I agree that MAS needs to star in another romantic show because that's where he shines! He was a total success in velvet and he should know that. Velvet was back on track when he returned and 4 million viewers saw his draw, he should do more love stories!! I read where he signed a 5 year contract with s8 but what if it's cancelled then what do they do? What will PE do now? Does she have any new series coming up? I know all of this was filmed in the summer and we are just now seeing it, butI will miss this show so much. First off thank you for the english translated subtitles. My head was spinning because there was soo much going on. FINALLLLLLLY! MAS returns and how hot was that kissing in the rain reunion between him and Ana. It was the romantic build up that I was waiting for and it didn't disappoint. MAS and Paula have such chemistry. I totally agree with you Texas. MAS needs another romantic movie/tv show. I watch and completely get that Sense8 is a unique opportunity to work on an original conceptual show that has an international sc-ifi appeal but as Lito he's cute in this role but it's his role as Alberto that he's a beast. My co worker who watches the show in NYC and she is hispanic, loves him too, but she confesses it very difficult to see him as Lito after watching him in this. I digress. About the episode 10. Where the actress who plays Cristina is delicious as crazy Cristina..The character needs to stop. OMG when she showed up at the airport and tells her daughter Alberto was her father..That is so sick. That can scar a child for life and then he had to break it to her daughter that it's not true. This poor little girl will have to grow up with a crazy mama. And now that we know (the viewers) that she started the fire...Alberto and Ana will think she tried to save (Alberto Jr.) and be indebted to her or will they discover she started the fire and could have killed all the workers who lived there. I am absolutely nervous that Ana and Alberto won't finally be together as a family with Alberto Jr. I'm not too cool with the little Cris and Alberto (recreating the grand love story with their children) I mean that kind of creepy. That Alberto Jr. will grow up to be solely in love with this little Cris. YIKES! As for Alberto being with other women in NYC...why did the writers need to emphasize that? Ana in her 5 years never was with Carlos. Is it inconceivable that Alberto would stay without a woman for 5 years even though he loves her forever? I will miss seeing these actors as an ensemble. When this show concludes.

Newbie here!
I wish I discovered this board sooner! Anyway I just finished watching episode 10 and OMG the last 5 or so minutes was so dramatic. Very soap opera like. I wanted to bawl like a baby as Alberto searched for Alberto Jr. I know Ana did not want to tell Alberto about their son this way. But it makes for good drama. I was watching the time to see how much we'd get to see Ana y Alberto together, something I don't usually do but this season's been lacking because MAS hasn't been around, I want as much time with them together as we can get. I really wish we could've had more MAS this season.
Anyway, Cristina needs to be locked up... for good. I feel terrible for her daughter who will be forever traumatized. I loved how Alberto dealt with the whole thing. He's not angry or upset. Aside from possible sympathy his priority is seeing Ana. As much as I love Alberto, he made some big mistakes with Cristina that played a part but all that is out the window now.
I wish we saw more of Alberto and Mateo--one of the best bromances ever!!! If I was Mateo I would've punched him for having me chase his butt to another continent after thinking he was dead for 5 years, THEN give him a hug. Too bad we didn't get to see that.
I don't think Enrique and Patricia will end up together. I hope we see some kind of reconciliation between Patricia and Alberto but I'm not getting my hopes up. I know they've never been close but they're blood.
Every time I see Clara and Mateo I say "Now Kiss!" to the screen. Glad they finally did... and more.
Ana being nervous totally made sense. She doesn't know what Alberto's been up to or why he stayed away as long as he did. A consistent theme of their relationship is that Alberto's had other relationships when he's not with Ana--and she knows this. It's why she broke up with him in S3. It's the age-old saying that men can have sex without the emotion but it's harder for women. Ana's spent most of her life longing to be with Alberto knowing there are plenty of women that would love to be with him. It's a point of insecurity for Ana but it's understandable.
As for the previews, I'm pretty confident Ana and Alberto will end up together, the question for me is will they leave Spain as they always talked about or will Alberto buy back Velvet and they run it together? I don't really see them going to NYC. I hope they stay in Europe. Going to NYC would be too cliche plus with Alberto's history who knows who they'd run into. A fight between Carlos and Alberto is coming but it's expected and deserved. Alberto would've come back to Spain had it not been for Carlos. He would've been there to see his son born and to see Ana become a famous designer.

I tri d to watch Sense8 so many times just to see MAS but for some reason I can't get into it and I hated seeing him in that role after watching him in Velvet. Ya me neither, I don't like him in that role and I wish he did not choose Sense8 . When a foreign actor trying to break into US market they practically were welling to take any role. I wish MAS follows actor such as Javier Bardam that had quiet few worth while films before he came to the US.

From what I see of MAS on Instagram he loves traveling and working with people from all over the world. The role is also different than anything he'd have the chance to do in Spain. Basically MAS did what Dan Stevens did on Downton Abbey--signed up for a show that unexpectedly became a big hit and got caught in the middle with a chance to branch out to a new possibly larger audience in the US or stay in a role that might become forever attached to him but become iconic nevertheless. Unlike Dan Stevens, MAS was willing to come back and finish the role out. Unfortunately while Downton Abbey could work without Dan because Mary was the main character, Velvet cannot work on a permanent basis without MAS. I can read Spanish pretty well and from articles I've read this isn't the first time MAS has left a show in a lurch. Last time the show was cancelled.

I see MAS in a lot of photos with Tina Desai (Kala) Sense8. I wonder if they are dating. The look good together.

Yeah ...pretty much i agree with you guys..He will always remain that hopeless romantic in velvet for me ..I am not feeling sense 8!He seems to be an ambitious and impulsive. .that doesn't make him a bad person, but may not make a very smart business decision. .He needs to stick with romance shows..He is a break out star through velvet...I wish he continues with velvet. .but its ok we have had a good run.

Honestly because of the way S3 ended and by the time I watched it entirely, I figured S4 would be the last as much as I hated to admit it. Because of the way I thought S4 would play out, once A/A reunited with their son I knew there wasn't much story left to tell. However now that S4 has aired I feel cheated because in S1-S2 and even in S3, Ana and Alberto had complex obstacles to work through, both internal and external. In S4 things are happening a little too easy for them now that I feel like there's more story to tell no matter how S4 ends on Wednesday. Maybe if the season had been longer like S1-S3. But this feels rushed. Even in Downton Abbey, you knew the show was ending but it felt organic and many of the original tensions between the characters were still there. S4 of Velvet had too much plot-driven material instead of the character-driven material that drew me to the show. The 5 year time jump was clearly something the writers came up with late in the game and while I get it since MAS was only going to be in 1-2 episodes, it was far from ideal. I thought Alberto would come back at most halfway through the season which would be 13 episodes at least and was all pumped up for some angst between Carlos/Ana/Alberto because I thought Ana and Carlos would be married when S4 started since the characters made it sound like that's what needed to happen to protect Ana from more social humiliation. When I saw S3 I knew most of what would happen and the show was promoting "Alberto vive" as the theme for S4 so I thought he'd return soon and we'd get scenes of Alberto persuading Ana to be with him and leave Carlos. The social pressures that kept A/A apart have gone away too easily. Now it's all external, plot-driven stuff.

Yes I tried to watch it many times, the whole show was a jumble. Watching our stud muffin, Alberto play a gay character was weird. I felt like he was cheating on Ana, no bueno. Also hearing his English after his beautiful Spanish was not for me.

Well, I'm in the minority when I say I wasn't that impressed with the reunion. The slow motion and then instant making out didn't do it for me. Realistically, Ana should have been asking some questions right then and there. Passion should have been built in the exchange before they instantly fell into each other's arms. Too simple, too easy. I felt they glossed over a lot of stuff, including what should have been very emotional scenes, in favor of gimmicks. They didn't want to ask and answer questions, so they came up a contrivance like the fire to mask it. It felt very rushed and somewhat forced because the fact is, they haven't been together in quite a while. They needed to build the relationship back up a bit. The show was slow moving for the first 9 eps, now it's like a speeding train. I get that MAS left them, which is why I think they should have reworked S3 and wrapped it up or just do a 2-3 hour special instead of an entire S4 that went nowhere until the last 2 episodes anyway. Carlos's only commupence will be getting punched out, not surprised, but disappointed. The 5 year gap was a terrible move, 1-2 would have been better. Plus they didn't exactly embrace the 60s aesthetically or pop culturally. The show still looks 5 years behind, including the fashion. Yeah, I find it weird when MAS speaks English, though he's gotten better. He has a wonderful voice in Spanish, but the only way we can probably follow his next projects is if they're English speaking roles. Apparently his character is a big hit in Sense8 and he has great comedic timing from comments I've read. So I think he can play a lot of different types of roles. We are just used to him in Velvet. FYI, ladies, he said in some recent interview he said he doesn't have a girlfriend.😍
