Maybe I have missed something, but i am really bothered by one part of the show. When Adele saw the shock on Christina's face when she told her about Alberto and Christina mentions he "dead", would Adele not think to go tell Alberto that all of velvet think he is dead, therefore including Anna? It just doesn't flow. PS- my blood literally BOILS when I see Carlos.. You are right where is Adele? Why she is not passing the information back to New York ?

Christina, all she ever goes on about is respect! "I want them to respect me" blah blah blah...she needs to earn it! She surpirses me to no end when she recognizes that Ana would feel concern about the employees of the store but sees that as a character flaw somehow. She's got Ana all figured out. But what's interesting is Carlos dosesn't seem to have the "evil" in him like Christina does. I find he's actually concerned about what Ana would think if he got involved in her business. He knows Ana doesn't take too kindly to his interference because Carlos knows he's not on secure ground with Ana. He knows Ana doesn't love him, so he knows that any interference could cause him some backlash. He's more hesitant but seems anxious about Christina willingness to contact Alberto and knows he's running out of time. He has to make this happen before she does. Christina has him right where she wants him. I also think even though it was cruel to say the least that he kept Alberto's letters, and he isn't a saint, but I suspect he now knows the lengths Christina will go to get revenge and that even scares him a little. He's like a deer caught in the headlights of a car. He looks scared whenever he sees Christina. Another thing Christina is going against what Enrique and Marco want. Interesting. I wonder whose putting up the extra money for the Pret-a-porter new digs? Christina? Carlos? Also when Carlos takes Ana blindfolded it didn't look like Aoritas's(?) store. Was this entirely new digs (store)? It looks so very differtent from what Ana used to go to when she went to Aoritas(?) store to drop off her dresses? I'm assuming Marco still owns 60% of Velvet and Enrique and Christina split the 40% so have equal shares between them. I also can't understand the hate between Enrique and Ana. I understand Marco's but not Enrique's. Is it her ties to Alberto, his ties to Christina? Feels she's responsible for Christina's breakdown? Mateo will flip when he finds out about Clara and Marco, and I suspect Marco will get great joy in telling Mateo about his relationship. That will really hurt Mateo. Clara however has no one to blame but herself. That's a shame. I also love the relationship between Mateo and Ana. I think if Alberto wasn't coming back I would accept a relationship between the 2. Better Mateo than Carlos!! Hmmm, I think Carlos is the alluring devil who is controlling. The fact that he is plotting behind Ana's back is a bad sign. Maybe the writers want us the viewers to be torn because he looks like a good guy and he is being a father figure to Alberto. At this point I don't think it's fair now to little Alberto (if Alberto returns and finds out he has a son) that the little guy will feel loyal to Carlos and you can't remove an adult from a child's life who has shown him love and expect the Alberto to step in and win him over. I definitely don't like that Carlos has intercepted Ana's letters. That is cruel, because by doing that he kept Alberto Jr. from finding out about his father and being with him. Seriously it's annoying me so much Alberto not being in the storyline already. Is annoying to me they use the kids to advance their personal vendetta (Christina) and misrepresent their true intention (Carlos).

I saw part 2 yesterday. There is a feel to the show this season that is "off". It has deviated so far from it's core. I don't know how else to describe it. MAS did say the fans would suffer, he wasn't kidding..
I have to wonder if Marco made the moves on Ana and she rebuffed him. He was protective of her at the end of season 3.There may have been friction while she was pregnant, because he was concerned she couldn't do what she was supposed to do. Who knows? All speculation.
Given that this season only has 11 episodes, we are almost halfway through the season. :-(

Primusoars I thought of that too. What will happen to poor Alberto Jr. when he finds out that the person who he has perhaps grown to love, Carlos, has decieved him and his mother all those years by with holding evidence his father is still alive! I mean that's in itself is traitorous. Do you think Ana will tell him? How do you explain Alberto's return to a young child. What a paradox this will create for a young child.
Petro's acting chops really improved yesterday in episode 5. I only got to watch part 2 without subtitles but my oh my...I could see the anguish.
I'm finding the whole Clara/Mateo/Marco triangle tedious and annoying. I must confess, there is a lot more to S4 that I find annoying compared to other seasons when I was feeling more engaged and involved emotionally. Is it just me, or does everyone else find the story so freaking dreary. I read the comments on the FB page of Velvet and see that I am not alone. What a pathetic end to such a lovely story. I mean don't get me wrong Alberto's return will be the highlight but to get there, it seems a very long and tedious journey. E1 and E2 held such promise, but it's steadily gone down hill since then. I guess we have to reach rock bottom for that last minute wait, and I suspect it will be last minute, season finalle, when Alberto returns.
A footnote, I sometimes think S4 was a chance for the actors to showcase the depth of their acting abilities...pretty much sums up Velevet at this point.

LadyfromCanada I agree. There is a dreariness and why i mentioned in my previous comment, the feel is "off."The writers deviated too far and while the music is the same and the actors are the same, It's a completely different story line. You have some of the same creepy characters (Carlos and Christina,) but no joy, except for the kids in the series. It has lost it's light hearted playful optimistic feel. I no longer have the excitement about seeing the next episode but dread for what will come next. Bad news, bad news and continued bad news. Life has it's own challenges. I watch TV or go to movies to get a reprieve and a break from the challenges of life. I don't watch TV or got to a movie to get depressed. The fans are who make a show popular. Never forget the fans and who your audience is.
And they need to show Alberto BEFORE the season finale. The fans need to see happiness in the lives of the characters they have come to love!!

They are aunt and niece in real life: -"tiene algo raro"/"she has something weird/odd/unusual"-. What she says is ambiguous in spanish though, because it makes only complete sense if instead of Petra who said that was Concha Velasco about her niece Manuela Velasco. Raul was the highlight of the episode for me, the scene with Jonas and the drawing board (Lemon yellow!) or later with Pedro, Jonas and Humberto were hilarious. Pedro is still embarrassing to watch, putting himself in very difficult positions while trying to do what he thinks is the best for his cousin, you know how much Marco looks down on him and he is unaware of that disdain, it's not easy to watch. Rita and Clara scenes were full of tenderness and pain and love, sigh, my favourite characters . Don Emilio and Doña Blanca are more and more the parents of everyone, maybe "their union" ends like something platonic and symbolic of this fact. Clara and Mateo scenes together make me smile like a fool, haha, now she is more invested than him (or looks like that) but i think that's going to change soon. They gave some hints about how Clara was very jealous of other women, maybe that is a big part of their separation. And Ana is the heroine of the story, and any hero needs evil villains to fight and have odds against them. Thanks for clarifying the behind the scenes info. so in essence that was a wink to the audience who know they are truly related . Ahhh. Yes Ana is the heroine of Velvet..But it's peculiar because she doesn't know all these characters are plotting against wanting to see her fail (ok with Marco she has a clue he's being difficult) I still can't figure it out...is Marco jealous of Ana or is he just plain mean? How can establishing another successful fashion line not mean more success for Velvet? Wouldn't a businessman want that? It's easy to understand Cristina's jealousy. But not getting what Enrique gains, or Patricia. I disagree, sorry, I'm new here, but when Dona Petra says 'tiene algo raro' I interpreted as her seeing right through Cristina, and called it as she saw it...that Cristina is a nutcase! She saw it in her eyes. The 'crazy eyes'. You can see Dona Petra's discernment earlier when she tells Marco to pretty much go jump in the lake when he comes to the shop Ana is opening and tries to take control of the situation and again later when Dona Petra, before she leaves for good, sees that Emilio and Blanca are attracted to each other but for whatever reasons, either don't see it or deny it. She's none too subtle about it and they try to brush it off as nonsense while at the same time actually admitting to their being actually compatible with each other. IMHO.

Petra is talking about Cristina and she said that she looked like her niece, and then she adds that she had something odd. It was tongue in cheek humour with the fact that they are in reality aunt and niece in real life, you can think that Petra sensed that Cristina is not very sane but also that Concha Velasco the actress thinks that her niece looks a little odd.

Interesting, I knew they were related but I totally missed this! I'll have to watch it again. So 'raro' means odd and not rare?

Raro in spanish means everything that is unusual, so not only has the same meaning as english, it's also a synonym of odd or peculiar.
