Married women had almost no rights in radical catholic and conservative Franco era, though men still had to "take care" of them, divorce was forbidden (think Mateo parent's situation).Clara is too proud to be maintained by Mateo though, and living in the galleries is part of their salary. She was hilarious all the episode, and by the way i coincide with Jonas: no se que hizo Clarita, pero tuvo que ser un pecado... I don't know what Clarita did, but it had to be a sin... MH looks in this episode, just wow  . She is in a jealousy war with Mateo btw, and she lost the first battle when Marco asked her if she had went to the hair salon. And she is sleeping with Marco. |

Do you think Ana has slept with Carlos?? Hard to say, 20+ years old Ana in love with Alberto, even when he was married, would have never slept with another man. 30+ years old Ana, with a kid, still in love with Alberto but thinking he is dead though... and after watching her interact with Carlos... Peter Vives is a very attractive man, and women have sexual desires, or at least that what i was told , and five years have passed ... from a dramatic point of view if Ana slept with Carlos opens a whole "poisoned can" of very human and complex emotions, about loyalty, love, trust... If i had to bet i would say yes, she did, but you never know with this show. Anyway it's going to be really interesting how PE/Ana reacts when she knows everything... that is going to be really hard to watch. |

Well i suppose it's not a spoiler since it's this episode... so read under your own responsibility if you don't want to wait for the subtitles: Cristina wants Carlos to marry Ana first, then she will think about her next step, she is getting her revenge for what Alberto did to her. so this is why matao is going to get Alberto to stop Ann from marrying carlos hence the short hair wedding I would be soon disappointed if Ana married Carlos...because the thing that holds this show together is Ana's never-ending love for Alberto. In a cliche way, we understood and gave Alberto a (macho pass) that he slept with Cristina (as they were married) and we even gritted our teeth when he slept with that lady Sara the CEO of the airline company. BUT if Ana marries Carlos that puts a nail in the coffin of the Ana Alberto love story. I also can't wrap my head around Alberto not fighting tooth and nail to be together with his son (if he ever finds out) and Ana as a family. |

Yes and not... very open for somethings, very conservative for others, i would say we are a mild catholic, not very practicing at all, country (i'm agnostic btw). Most people accept gay rights, yet a lot of people is against abortion (like myself)... i'm not against the right of women to abort, which should never be forbidden, ever, but the action itself?... i think that information and technology is what set women free (so they have not unwanted pregnancies), not the right to give themselves a scar. I meet once an american mormon who was really surprised about our behaviour about life/religion, because well, we are supposed to be a very catholic country, but we are not very observant of what our faith tells us? i don't know if i'm making any sense . |

I love their love story. I can't take it that she has to still fight to be a success for Velvet..This Italian dude (like why is he against her?) and then there is Cristina. I get the writers are trying to pull back and not make her a complete villain..but I can't get over how she pushed pregnant Ana down the stairs and went for her with scissors. Alberto will appear mid season of the show WHATTTTTT?!  I don't want Ana to marry that creepy Carlos and then there is little Alberto? And heaven forbid if she marries Carlos and becomes pregnant I can not bear to watch that? |

I'm agnostic yet i accept this like an indisputable fact, western culture, which i love, is based on Christianity... yes, the western world created many injustices, yet it created a better world for everyone, it's far from being perfect, but everyone is trying to make it better... so the road to hell is paved with good intentions saying was born. The Borgia were the last Spanish popes in history, because of their actions, they stopped electing Spanish popes in Rome... i know about their story... the fun fact is that they created a lot of good things also. I love the female friendship between Ana, Clara and Rita in this series... Mateo, Alberto and Raul friendship almost "speaks" to me though, i find myself, and my relation with my friends, very close/reflected in their friendship? (or what i would like it looks like )... we men are less likely to keep relationships in touch though, that's maybe something that women can't understand, but for men friendship it's a bit different. We don't believe that distance takes a toll in our friendship, and we are wrong about it, but we are always supportive of each other if our relationship is like Alberto and Mateo, even if we beat the crap of each other like they did. |
