I'm excited that their bringing Manolito back, I think he represents a good chance to tell a new generation of stories whilst still having ties to the old cast.
I actually think a better option would've been to make him a main character and tell the story from his POV, but it doesn't look like they've cast him yet so I doubt this is the case

I just saw that Sense8 was cancelled! I know it's a long shot, but hoping maybe this means MAS could make an appearance on the spinoff!!!

I certainly hope the writers do a better job than in Season 4. I am still puzzled why they cut out most of the story line leading up to Ana and Alberto's garden wedding...what a disappointment!

^thanks for sharing! I've been a bit behind on posting updates. But I figured Clara would most likely be the main protagonist. But aw so that means Emilio is gone. I'm still wondering what Rita's fate was.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=BH_XU3PBhKY The new actors speak a bit about their characters:
First: Manolito (Ignacio Montes), Pedro's son, who is coming from Germany with his girlfriend to marry and also to work with his father. They joke a bit about the fact that they don't look like father and son, but because they are actors, they are not really their characters Pedro and Manolito. Paloma (Marta Torné) The new secretary of Clara (Marta Hazas) who is a directive now in the new company (Velvet colección), she is a chaotic but funny character with many dualisms, with a broken heart because she just separated form her ex, she adds that she easily falls in love, that she likes all the guys in the galleries, everyone but not one at the same time because she has not very clear who she actually likes. But she is a good person, with a good heart, with a lot of energy and she hopes people likes her. Sergio Godó (Fernando Guallar): who is the new Alberto i guess, he doesn't say much, that he would like for viewers to know his family and the new Velvet Colección galleries. Lourditas (Lucía Díez) her mother Bárbara sent her from London to her father Enrique to discipline her, she wants to "eat the world", with the sortest miniskirt possible and she likes photography and Manolito, a very straightforward girl. She also has something to fix, her relationship with her father, because even if she is confident in herself, she has her "corazoncito / little-heart" meaning she is vulnerable, and she hopes in recover him as a father. Marie Leduc (Andrea Duro): she is a french woman who arrives with Jonás to Barcelona just to visit the city but at the end she will stay. Then she shows a bit her 70s look and speaks a bit about her storyline with Jonás and others and how she hopes viewers will like it. Elena (Megan Montaner): and the new Ana i suppose, an energetic, vital, bringing many ideas character who is going to stir up things... and the things of love as well.

betafilm.com/media/files/pdf/Production_Slate_Summer_2017.pdFor Ana, things couldn’t have worked out better and turned out worse: Minutes before the grand opening of the new Barcelona Velvet Store, her beloved uncle and mentor Emilio dies of a stroke. But the totally unforeseen of his long lost son Sergio changes everything. Sergio was Emilio’s illicit son and grew up in the extremely well-off entrepreneur family Godo, and Ana can’t believe any of it until Sergio manages to provide some very solid proof in the form of half a photograph, of which only Ana knows where to find the matching other half. Once convinced, Ana places all her bets on Sergio who, though ever the black sheep of his industrialist family, was always involved in their dealings and holds an MBA degree. But Ana is not the only one taking a liking to Sergio. Her best friend Clara’s vow to return to Madrid where her husband Mateo awaits her, is severely tested by the new crown prince of the Barcelona Velvet installment, but just when she finally decides to leave her own past behind, Sergio’s long lost love Elena (Megan Montaner of ‘No Identity’) re-enters his life. Elena plans not only to reconquer Sergio but innovate the fashion business by introducing new and audacious wear to Spain like, among others, the bikini... But these are not the only ones fate is testing: Staff manager Pedro, while still mourning his wife Rita’s passing, encounters a like mind in the spirited Marie from France, his best friend and head taylor Jonas’ right hand. The ultimate test to the new Velvet enterprise are Sergio’s step-father Eduardo, who swears revenge on his stepson’s new home, the Velvet franchise, after Sergio goes public in denouncing him, and Nicolas, the most promising pupil of the newly founded Velvet Tayloring School, who turns his back on his mentor Raul de la Riva. In the new Velvet franchise, we will experience the rise of the mini skirt, high boots and the bikini without letting up on any of the glamour and elegance one has come to expect from the breakthrough series

Thank you for the update. So it has been confirmed Emilio and Rita are both passed. I'm so sad to hear this Rita was so young. Does it say what happened with the boys? Also what a surprise Emilio has a son, like that idea. I hope this is going to be either on Netflix or on this forum.

I've been binge-watching El Internado for fear that Netflix would pull it before I was done watching and have TOTALLY missed all the Velvet news! I wonder if Netflix will purchase it...my limited Spanish has me thinking it's on a pay channel already, but one that is specific to Spain?
Also, so happy to see Marta Torne will be on the show. Amazing how often these people work together!

Movistar+ and yep, it's a new Spanish pay channel, actually the biggest. Netflix is a main competitor in Spain, "Velvet Coleccion" is an exclusivity for the channel if i remember well. I don't know if the channel can be contracted in countries where Movistar is operating though www.movistar.com/es/ since Movistar is not everywhere, it may open the possibility of making an arrangement with Netflix, at least for non-Spanish speaking countries.
