Damn right Silk is not Velvet!πBuisness wise, financial status and popularity..Silk is on top of its game!!Thanks to Don Alberto.Unlike Velvet that's financially strung and living in its past glory..The galleria is still standing because of Ana,(Phillipe Ray)...if not it would've gone down in flames.
With Alberto coming back,he is going to restore velvet and reinstate Ana...

Cristina's character has been wired in such a way, that she continues her witch hunt on Ana. ..no matter the situation.Personally I didn't care for her reaction when the reveal was made..because you can't just win with her.Carlos was the one who had the meltdown..Cristina did a 360 on the whole situation..she suddenly started taunting Ana and implying that Alberto has forgotten her..and as I watched the scene,I tried to replay that scene where she pleaded with Ana..she has changed.I hope she doesn't try to murder any of them...she is still riding hard on that revenge horse..and until that horse buckles and throws her off..probably killing her in the process...she isn't going to stop. Her character is just there to make Ana's life miserable.

They had a fight about the murder and police, Patricia was on the brink of having a nerve attack and reveal everything , she miscarriages because the stress of the situation and the quarrel indeed. So Enrique left very mad and he doesn't know what happened.

Alfi, after you mentioned it I looked at the Facebook page for Velvet the comments are quite funny and in line with what people feel here. I'm not the only one who noticed Paula smiles wide when she cries.

Some people are angry because they wanted a climax in the episode once Ana found out that Alberto is alive, but as hopelessromantic so well explained that was not going to happen. I think most people forget that Alberto and Ana had never been happily together for more than 2 or 3 episodes, S1 ended with Alberto marrying Cristina, in S2 they kissed in the penultimate episode. I spoke about "culebrones" trying to explain Cristina character's evilness but i didn't speak about the main reason that they are really so addictive for women, that's the main couple, "Alberto and Ana". That's why i say that Ana is not going to fall in love or date anyone with the purpose of forgetting Alberto, that's not going to happen, Ana would be hated, and the same with Alberto, after 5 years separated they still love each other, that's fundamental for the story and its addictiveness. In S4 the main problem and also what is going to make the ending more satisfying (in my opinion) is that MAS was not there, that's why people is angry now, they are like kids in the last hour of the trip, they want to already arrive and are unbearable, but you also know that in the moment that you arrive to your destination they are going to ditch the bad mood in a flash, even if they don't recognize it.
Tropikaldawl, I think that "PE is a bad actress" thing is because venting, and that some people who don't like the actress just get the opportunity to be mean without others calling them off, some viewers can be very nasty. E9 was a really difficult episode for PE for the motives already exposed.
You know the theory of the glass being half empty of half full? that's what i think is going on. People who are not so into A/A are seeing the glass half full, and people who are very invested in A/A half empty (or directly empty). I still think that the end is going to please everyone, the 10 episode is going to be stacked with pleasant moments and also the main climax of the 4 seasons so far, Alberto and Ana meeting again under the rain after 5 years separated.

I find it hard to blame the actors/actresses, they are slaves to the writing in my opinion. You're right alfi, that they are venting caus they can. I wonder how much is really due to the actress rather than the "luke skywalker" syndrome as someone called it, I haven't seen Gran Reserva (although the synopsis looks very interesting and Yon is in it). Many of the reviews of the show on IMDB also question whether Velvet is really a show about Alberto/Ana based earlier seasons because they are not together most of the time. Someone else said it but to me this is definitely an ensemble case series, and this season proved that because the main protagonist was mostly absent.
But as far as actresses go, I think my favorite is Marta Hazas, she just has this girlish charm when she plays Laura Montenegro and Clara Montesinos. She conveys a character that is independent, fun, imperfect, stubborn, sassy and also stays true to herself and what she wants. Plus Clara was definitely MVP when she ripped the dress, that was a classic moment!

Thank you VV and Alfi!! Much appreciated. π
I do not do blog that much but I enjoy "lurking" everybody's sensible comments. It is like getting little Christmas or Hanukkah gifts on a daily basis.π
Lara, I totally agree with your observation regarding Christina, she is the epitome of a mean girl with an occasional friendly facade . I remember that her selfish personally was already noticeable in S1 when she insisted (commanded) Ana to stay with her during her wedding photo session, although she already gave Anna her permission to meet a famous disigner at Dona Aurorita's. It broke my heart to see Ana's dream to marry Alberto and becoming a designer crushed that day.

Thanks, VV.
There were some positives on this ep.π³ Carlos reacted just as I would expect and actually had the most believable reaction to what happened. I just wonder how Carlos found out that Alberto was alive because although this part isn't subbed yet, he came into Velvet knowing the secret was out. Cristina called the church maybe? Ana didn't deserve the verbal tirade he unleashed, but I do wish Cristina would have gotten something like that from Alberto and Ana last season. Carlos had the nerve to tell Ana maybe Alberto is with another woman, when he knows full well he's been writing Ana until recently hoping to reconcile. He's terrible.
Cristina still thinks she is better than Ana! I am glad they addressed the questions they did because they acknowledge that Carlos doesn't seem to love Ana, unfortunately they seemed to say it was from his lack of wedding planning and not because his obvious joy of the scheming with her enemy. Cristina also asked him why he wants Ana, who she views as beneath him. Cristina only thinks in terms class. Why not say why do you want a woman who is a single mother who obviously doesn't love you? Why frame everything by class when they haven't addressed the fact that Cristina should be a piranha in Madrid society these days. Unfortunately they only use class like religion and social norms, only when it suits them. Is anyone allowed to transcend the class they were born into? Ana certainly has. Ana even mentioning in jest that she and Rita were meant to be rich as they listed all their wining and dining in Italy showed that indeed Ana is no longer a poor seamstress. Too bad we didn't see any of what she described on screen this season because it would have been fun and exactly what she should have been doing instead of fighting with Marco and hanging with Carlos.
She knows Mateo was fired, but I wonder if she will ever find out why. I'm glad they also mentioned (Mateo) that in 5 years of seemingly no contact, Alberto might be married with kids now because it would be unrealistic to assume that wasn't a possibility before talking to him. When the story is less intricate they seem to do better remembering details. There reveals are still always weak though:-(
Marlito- Yeah, it was definitely evident leading up to the finale in S1 that Cristina was very fake. Then in the finale it all came out, that is what we have always seen from her. She didn't just go crazy when Alberto dumped her, it was always there and she was always acting a part. I always wished Ana met with that guys he was the owner of a big store coming to Madrid. I would have liked to see a storyline of PR growing beyond Auorita's.

Alberto have sex sessions with women from the upper class of NY, many of them married. Silk is not Velvet. I wish I hadn't read this comment. I'm seeing Alberto totally different now Not that I'm being naive, but this information could have been left out...lol.

But well, it's cannon anyway, Alberto is still in love with Ana though, i t seems that he tried to use sex to try to forget Ana. Trying to forget Ana he became obsessed with sex.

I was intrigued by that question in Pausa before the wedding when Christina asks Carlos "what does he see in Ana?" And he responds "Class isn't given by birth" which I took to mean sometimes even money can't buy class. That was a defimite dig against Christina in defense of Ana. You can clearly see that Carlos dispises Christina. She's a convenience for him, even if he has to listen to her gushing over wedding plans that she's planning for Ana in the guise of a hopeful wedding between her and Alberto. Every time he's near her he cringes. But it's an interesting question by Christina, the alone and desperate Christina, a question she has probably agonized over as to what does Ana have that makes all these men, especially Alberto, fall for her. A better answer by Carlos would have been, "because she's evrything I've wanted in a woman and she's not like you! Than added rather contemptuously, "Christina have you ever asked yourself why doesn't Alberto want you"! BAM

It really burns Cristina up that all these successful men go for Ana. Carlos hates Cristina, that was apparent in all their scenes except the breakfast one. I could never imagine them ending up together, even if the are both vile. The questions themselves were definitely valid, just the insinuation of it being due to different classes and his lack of enthusiasm for the wedding were the off parts for me. Besides, what does Cristina really know about Carlos? He could be from a working class background who rose up to become a successful pilot. I just realized we actual know nothing about Carlos. Anyway, if Cristina didn't know Ana's history, would she assume she grew up in the store basement?

Lara the one scene I cannot watch are really the ones Carlso are in. The one that bugs me the most is the last scene of S1 when Ana and Carlos first meet as I dispise that scene it's so contrived. I detest how they met!! Some sort of suggestion it's a fairytale meet up! Christ!
Carlos is an ornament, nothing more, to be worn when necessary.
What we do know about him he must be a classmate of Enrique as they were friends, and of the owner of Airsa so he must be well connected socially. Christina alluded to his being able to meet ladies with better credentials than Ana, so she must know vaguely his social standing. I mean I guess being a successful pilot has some value in society. Other than that Ana was to meet his father and mother but Isobel got in the way so that didn't happen.
Christina is so righteous in what she percieves is her superior class when she talks about the wedding having a magic touch of something and aristocracy. What effing baloney! I think one of the reasons Carlos hates her is the fact she talks down to him. He even counters that she thinks he doesn't love Ana. In his mind, just because Christina is capable of such deception without a care doesn't mean he is the same and also defends his involvement because he wants a perfect wedding for Ana. They are both twisted in that regard.
She knows Ana grew up in the basement of Velvet and that the employees are her family. But your question about whether Christina would assume Ana grew up in a basement. Hm, the fact that Ana was a seamstress probably implied working poor and that she lived there with the other employees!
But and I'm guessing, what made Christina hate her so much is the fact she grew up in the store and was the reason Alberto was so distracted he hardly noticed her as they were growing up. It pains her that Alberto had that close proximity with Ana, for those many years, and she became his first love. I suspect it doubly pains her that she never knew. All the times she visited him in London, he was busy writing Ana. She must feel awfully betrayed. Perhaps even foolish. And all along his father and Gerado were encouraging a relationship. May be that's why she feels humiliated on top of all the other stuff that happened to her. But if you think I'm softening on Christina, don't. The bitch earned every thing that's happened to her!! She could have easily walked away and she didn't.
