No problem.
I'm just really disappointment that they didn't take advantage of the extra time they had with MAS last season. I just wanted to see A/A happy for a while. Even in early S3, they didn't have such great scenes and of course Cristina destroyed whatever they did have every episode. I would have liked to have seen them hosting a dinner party together at Alberto's maybe for the Velvet crew, or going to jazz club like he did with Cristina, or doing something related to Spanish culture. I'm fine with the voiceover music being in English, but it would have been nice to hear Spanish music within scenes (Luisa even sang in English) and to see some authentic Spanish culture on the show. I might be alone, but I would much rather see scenes like those with A/A, than watching Cristina go crazy again. I find her s/l so boring now, but I watch because it's the neccessary evil to get to Alberto. I'm not even finding Ana all that enjoyable so far this season. That's why if we got some good stuff last year, I would have been ok with them both leaving in S3 and coming back this season together. They could have gone away for her career, which was always Alberto's dream to leave with her. He could have kept Velvet too. As long as the writers made the other s/l interesting, it could have worked.

Which will pave the way for some nice episodes when he comes back 🙏🏼

Why was all the music in English? Is that because the version with English sub-titles has the english music? Good point raised earlier regarding spanish culture and not including spanish music from the time period. I too have found Ana to be a little "flat" in her facial expressions. I just think it's because she's experienced an incredible loss with losing the love of her life. She's certainly focused and moving forward, especially with focusing on her son. There's just something there that's missing. I don't know if it's also because Paula the actress new the series was coming to an end. I don't know, just wondering. I loved her interaction with Mateo, and Raul is just my favorite.
It does have a very different feel to it this season. Even with Rita's health issue. There is a general somberness to it all. That said, I can't wait until Ana and Alberto are reunited. Real life doesn't always have happy endings. It's always nice to find it somewhere, even if it's for a show! :-)

The music has been always in english from the beginning. First, american culture, music, cinema, etc, is very present in Spain, like any other country in western Europe. And second (and this is a guess) it helps to transport us to "another Spain", they barely touch the fact that Spain was under Franco dictatorship, Velvet is like a mix between a fairy tale and a tragedy. There is only one song in spanish, Luna de Miel, when the show was visiting Porrillos, when Rita's father is asking her who Pedro is and he went out asking for his shotgun, because you can make the claim that "La Bamba", even with mexican origin and in spanish, it's an american song since it was popularized in USA. www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBs562UTX6Q Gloria Lasso. www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbonHxAfthM Paloma San Basilio The music is from a greek compositor though, Mikis Theodorakis.

Alfi Raul interview on antenna 3 please interpret thanks I absolutely love the music from Velvet. The songs are spot on with the various scenes. My Spanish is very limited so the music actually helped me to understand some of what was going on when I would watch the series without subs. I also really enjoy listening to the music when I'm not watching Velvet. I tried to purchase the soundtrack with no luck. I believe it was Northbound who recommended Spotify in this blog and now I listen to the music from Velvet whenever I want. I also learned of some new artist from this blog thanks Alfi sharing some links to music videos and soundtracks. Alfi do you know that Pablo is one of my favorites music artist now, I love his music and so does my husband. He downloaded Pablo to his playlist as well.

Nice to know, but i think you have to thank Lara, she was who asked who was the singer of a song she liked. www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGpfVmmZkIkAs a bonus, "Quien" featuring Alejandro Sanz, in Madrid. There were not many men in the crowd .

That said, I can't wait until Ana and Alberto are reunited. Real life doesn't always have happy endings. It's always nice to find it somewhere, even if it's for a show! :-) My guess is they wanted a more international audience, English music would have more have familiarity and relateability. Even though it is set in Spain and they speak Spanish it somehow feels like it could take place in any major city in the world. I think it worked too. That said, I don't understand why they had Luisa sing in English, have English music on the radio and in the bars/clubs. It would be much more authentic to hear Spanish. I really wished they would have done more cultural stuff, why do we never see foods native to Spain like tapas or paella? They did do churros lol I definitely would have liked so see some events. The biggest thing I associate with Spain in bull fighting and the running the bulls, which I am against, but they were never even mentioned. Some other events would have been interesting. I did learn About the Twelfth Night, which I had never heard of before, and the festival where they poke their hands in pins. Yeah, I don't know what it is with Ana, probably no Alberto, but it wasn't this bad in S3. To me, the character seems very lost this season. The way I describe her now is the same way I describe her relationship with Carlos: dumb, boring and passionless. She's supposed to be a tougher Ana, but she's always had more of a quiet confidence, so it doesn't come across as authentic and feels rather forced in her scenes with Marco. That storyline itself is just ok so far, nothing earth shattering. On the personal side, the best they could do is let her stay in that lame relationship with that dreadful Carlos? Alberto or no Alberto, it makes no sense that she would stay in a relationship like that for 5 years from a viewer standpoint. She hiding behind it but her character would have been much more interesting if she moved on with someone viable. I love her scenes with Mateo and Raul, but other than that she's just been boring. I wish she would finally get cajones to dump Carlos. My interest level with her would shoot up 100% if she did. It's a much darker this season and the dreamlike feel of the first season is definitely gone. The innocent characters of the first couple of seasons are now mature adults.
