So I have noticed a lot of discussion about Miguel's role in Sense8 on some of the other threads, but I thought here might be a good place to discuss it more.
I've watched Sense8 and it is very different from Velvet. MAS has mentioned and continues to mention that what really drove him to the role was how it connects these 8 people from different parts of the world and how they film at the actual locations. I admit that Sense8 is not my favorite show, definitely not even in my top 10. There were things that I really liked about it and other things that I didn't like/hated. The sex stuff is totally unnecessary and I wish they wouldn't have had so much of it.
I'm a fan of both Alfonso Herrera and MAS, not only because they are so good looking but they are both great actors, so having them paired together and sharing scenes together was awesome and definitely a main reason why I even watched the show. This show is definitely not everyone's cup of tea and I hate how the filming schedule is so demanding and it's taken his time to film Velvet but MAS seems to be enjoying it and it's a role he wanted.
What are you thoughts?

MAS is such a nuanced actor, each facial expression and body movement shows how natural he is when he played the part. In Sense8 he is totally obscure by the story and his acting is wasted . I hope he will choose his project wisely. Just because it is a n US production doesn't mean it is good. Look at all the garbage we produce in Hollywood.

I hope you don't mind me moving your post into this thread. I do agree that just because it's a US show doesn't mean it's going to be good. I mean, I'm upset there's plans on remaking Velvet and GH because the US is so bad at remakes it's embarrassing. LOL IDK those shows have a potential to be good but we'll see.
As for sense8, I was actually surprised it got picked up for another season as there were rumors it wouldn't. The show has quite a number of fans but I feel like it's definitely one of the lowest viewed Netflix original shows. While his character is one of the big comedic aspects of the show, he does a good job with it. A lot of actors' first gigs in the US and even when they are just starting out are often roles they end up not being proud of, but MAS seems comfortable taking on the role and is happy with it. I do see how some people could say his acting is wasted because in season 1 his character hardly had to do with the main story, but his character is definitely one of the top favorites and if Lito was portrayed by anyone else I don't think his character would have gained the reception that he has. Hopefully the outcome will be him getting better roles as there are some people who decided to give Velvet a go because he's in it and so I think ultimately Sense8 is just the beginning for him and he'll get better roles where his acting will really shine through and not be overshadowed or overlooked by the story.

Hello,
I just wanted to tell everyone that I saw Albert in my town at the coffee shop where I always hang out. I did see him in the Instagram that he has visited here and surfed here couple of times. My daughter happened to surf with his brother( later I found out that he is a very good friend like a brother), so I was very certain that someday, I will run into him.
It really happened last Sunday at the same coffee shop. He looked exactly as same as on TV as Albert. Since some friends and other customer were in the place, I did not want to disturb him, especially in this little eclectic surf town, there are not many people knowing about him, so he was free to do anything and I respected that.
When I was behind the coffee place to wait for my friend, he also came out from the back alone. So I asked, " Excuse me! " Miguel said " Yes? " with smile. I asked " Are you Albert?" Miguel: "Yes, but actually my real name is Miguel" I told him that my daughter surfed with his brother who recently moved close by and took a picture with other surfers together and posted in his Instagram, that is why I knew he come visit sometimes. Miguel: "Oh, he is actually not my real brother but just like my brother, I live in LA now and come down here every weekend. Do you live around here? what is your name?" So I introduced my self, then he said "it is really nice place here, I am sure I will see you around in town again", then shook my hand. I just wanted to respect him having a nice weekend with his brother and friends, so I did not ask him to take a picture, and even mentioned much about his work and staff. I really became a big fun of him because of his humble and friendly personality. I hope I will run into him again as one of local people. It will be nice that we can see him in movie or TV series here in US.
His English was pretty good and he was really very nice.

^How awesome! Thanks for sharing your interaction with Miguel! He seems like a genuinely nice person. And I'm going to assume you live somewhere in Encinitas? Just a guess based on his instagram pics and stuff. lol I live in SoCal too so I'm waiting for the day where I may run into him. But again thank you for posting your story!
