Velvet 2x1 "La noche de los alfileres"
Netflix/English Title: "The Night of the Pins"
SUMMARY
Brief Episode Summary: Alberto and Cristina return home from their honeymoon in Rome, and while it seems to have gone well, Alberto is furious when he learns that Cristina's brother Enrique has effectively taken over Velvet in his absence (even taking over Alberto's desk!). Enrique's first order of business has been to arrange for Velvet to design the flight attendant uniforms for Airsa. The deal was made possible by Carlos, an Airsa pilot and (unbeknownst to Alberto and Enrique), Ana's new love interest. Alberto scoffs at the idea of Velvet stooping so low as to design uniforms, but Enrique insists that the deal must go forward because Velvet's finances are still shaky following the failure of Raul's collection.
Meanwhile, Cristina decides to make amends for her rudeness toward Ana on the day of the wedding -- first, by giving Ana a souvenir bracelet from Rome, and then by interfering in Ana's love life -- she believes Ana is still dating Mateo, so Ana and Mateo have to set her straight (especially since Mateo and Clara's relationship is now out in the open). When Alberto and Ana touch base later after Ana's awkward run-in with Cristina, Ana admits to Alberto that she is dating someone new, but she doesn't provide any other details. Alberto is noticeably hurt but admits that he knows it's better for Ana this way. Later, they meet on the roof and Ana encourages Alberto to see the benefits of designing the uniforms. Alberto, inspired by Ana, makes a big speech to the Velvet workers outlining his plan for the uniforms and the new collection.
Finally, new cracks in Alberto and Cristina's marriage start to show themselves, as Alberto learns first that Enrique forced Raul to leave Velvet and then that Cristina knew what Enrique did and kept it a secret from Alberto. Cristina defends herself and her brother, which only infuriates Alberto further.
