SYNOPSIS (translated from the official press release)
July 22, 1921. The Battle of Annual (Morocco) becomes one of the most serious military defeats of the Spanish army. Such is the amount of convalescing soldiers that hospitals can not cope and the Queen decides to intervene. A group of nurses led by Carmen de Angoloti (the Duchess of Victoria), depart from the capital. Her destination: the front. Her mission: to save lives. They are young ladies of the aristocracy, ladies who leave a life of luxury to fulfill their duty...all except one: Julia (Amaia Salamanca).
Desperate because there has been no news of her fiancé, Julia decides to embark to Melilla without qualifications and without the knowledge of her wealthy family. She hopes to find her brother and her fiancé alive.
But this will not be easy. Young aristocrats will have to quickly adapt to the mechanisms of war, infighting with the hospital, and differences in social class, while demonstrating their worth in saving the lives of wounded soldiers in combat.
CAST OF CHARACTERS
Carmen de Angoloti, the Duchess of Victoria (Alicia Borrachero): married since 1884 and without children, Carmen is the general inspector of hospitals in the area of Morocco, and she is a patient professional who has the full confidence of the queen. Her position as a privileged lady leads many to distrust her, but she is the first to rise and the last to lie down. If something goes into her head, it is no use trying to dissuade her. Her relationship with the hospital nurses is complicated, because she is their superior but they all have the same experiences in war, which will provoke conflicts on how to treat the sick. Nor will it be easy to deal with Vincent, the hospital's director.
ALSO PICTURED: Colonel Vicente Márquez (José Sacristán)
Julia Ballester (Amaia Salamanca): a young woman who sneaks off to the front (even though she's not a nurse) in order to find her fiancé and her brother.
Pilar Muñiz de Zárate (Verónica Sánchez): scarred by the early death of her husband, Pilar is calm, sweet, and a lover of reading and music; she does not enjoy the high society parties or participating in the charitable work given to her friend the Duchess of Victoria. Intelligent and beautiful, she quickly attracts the eyes of the men around her.
Fidel Calderón (Álex García): army captain, doctor, and chief of surgery at the hospital, Fidel is in charge of receiving Carmen's group of nurses; although the military has very strict rules, Fidel does not hesitate to skip them if it is for the greater good. While he is a soldier, to him medicine is much more important, which causes conflict with his superiors.

Bambu is certainly busy...they've announced a new product which, next year, will take Velvet's place on Antena 3. In this interview, Ramon Campos explains a great deal about the series and what we can expect:
www.vertele.com/noticias/en-marcha-tiempos-de-guerra-la-historia-real-sucesora-de-velvet-en-antena-3/
WHAT WE KNOW:
* The show is called Tiempos De Guerra, or Wartime.
* It takes place in the 1920s during the Battle of Annual between Spanish forces and the Republic of the Rif. Link: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Annual
* Here's how Ramon Campos describes the premise of the show: "The Queen sends her ladies, ladies of high society, to set up a hospital in Melilla. In addition to upper class women they are also nurses, among which Carmen de Angoloti, Duchess of Victory. ... This is the story of a women accustomed to a life of luxury, suddenly, in the midst of a war healing soldiers ... it is a war story, a classic melodrama, but it also has those elements of comedy. ... There are times when war orders on issues that nurses do not understand. That will be in the story: how the military chief of hospitals in Melilla want the soldiers to control medicine, hospitals and care for the sick.
... Meanwhile, Carmen de Angoloti has been sent by the queen, who believes that they are doing things wrong, and begins to revolutionize all the medical system."

* RC says that as Velvet focused on fashion and Gran Reserva focused on wine, Tiempos De Guerra will focus on medicine and the military.
* Shooting begins in February or March, and the premiere will be later in 2017.
