Hi! Everybody can call me North.  I found out about Gran Hotel because I have family members who recommended the show to me since they knew I liked Downton Abbey. When I finished GH, I moved onto Velvet. I love both shows, but I find myself talking/thinking about Velvet more lately because it's still on the air (though I plan to do a GH re-watch as soon as I have a chance). Favorite characters/couples from GH: Julio/Alicia, Javier, Andres, and sometimes Belen (mostly just before she faked her death...I had a harder time with her after that). Favorite characters/couples from Velvet: Ana/Alberto, Mateo/Clara, Max/Blanca, Jonas/Patricia, Barbara...sometimes Pedro/Rita. Thank you so much for creating this forum! It's great to have a place to discuss both of these shows. |

Hi! I'm Cosette. I'm French and I'm 21 I only watch Velvet which I discovered by chance. I was watching Spanish TV and I saw the trailer. I really loved it so I watch the show. My favorite characters are Mateo, Ana and Clara. I also like Barbara since season 3. |

I became a fan of Gran Hotel a year and half ago when my daughter introduced me to it while I was convalescing from an illness. Subsequently, after watching GH on Netflix, Velvet popped up
Both shows, GH and Velvet are very impressive, but I would have to give the edge to GH if I had to choose. My favourite character was Javier Alarcón (Eloy Azorín). The attention paid to detail (my amateur judgment) in both these shows, being period pieces, is most impressive.
My favourite character in Velvet is Rita (Cecilia Freire).
El Internado is also another entertaining series.
Looking forward to seeing season 4 of Velvet.

It was very hard finding other people who were part of the fandom but I was so happy to know that there are indeed a ton of people. Thank you for this blog. I really enjoy reading the posts every day! Velvet and gh are both a favorite on Netflix.velvet is by far my favorite!! I'm from the u.s.( Texas) and a 3rd grade teacher.i enjoy traveling and spending time with family!

I have been a member for a few weeks now. I am from Brampton, Ontario (Canada). I am really enjoying this blog. I absolutely love Velvet and Grand Hotel too but mostly Velvet. I wish it would continue into a fifth and subsequent seasons. Really looking forward to season 4, which starts today...so excited!!!! I wish I could understand Spanish fluently.

Hi. I am Shari from the US, Kentucky and am thoroughly enjoying this forum. I watched Gran Hotel first and just loved Yon Gonzalez, a very promising young actor. Looking forward to Bambu's new project with him.
Netflix suggested Velvet and now I am hooked. Watched Seasons 1-3 twice and some episodes more than that. Since I discovered this forum and VV's generous work to provide us with subtitles every week I am actually learning some Spanish. I watch the live stream each Wednesday then watch again when subtitles are ready. I will miss Velvet when it is finished and the fascinating conversations and discussion on this forum.
My other guilty pleasures include Heartland, the Canadian series, and Outlander, Jamie Frasier truly is the king of men.

From Velvet: Ana, Alberto, Clara, Mateo, Raul (Barbara is a struggle for me because of GH so I have to ignore her until I can work that one out lol) Anything else you'd like to add? That I am so happy to have found this forum and for all the effort you put into the subs VV, because down in NZ we only have Velvet up to the end of Season 2 on NF (which was good because I liked the happy ending but sad when I found out there was a Season 3 and 4) (  very sad face until I found this awesome home right here - where I live whenever I have time each day). |
