I think Alberto turned to Christina afer Ana dumped him at the altar as that is typical Alberto. Whenever he's hurt he's turned to a woman. Sarah being another example. He however only does it to assuage his feelings for Ana. I think deep down the friendship they have built is based on a deep abiding trust and therefore sort of a comfort knowing that their love is also deep. That's why forgiveness is easy to do, hence the 5 year separation only to callapse into each other arms. They truly love each other. Sound hokey but I think that's the essence of Velvet and A/A. so true. Their love is far reaching to when they were kids. That is just awesome!!!

We all have talked about how many times we have watched this series, I wonder what this means about all of our personalities...What common thread we all share. I thought today that it's really got to end so I can finish my Christmas shopping and stop obsessing over this forum! I check it all day long! I think I'm ready for this to be..Over. Thinking back over s4and finally seeing Alberto in the last episode, we were so cheated. How different it could have been.is anybody ready for closure? We are all romantics at heart...lol

Thinking back over s4and finally seeing Alberto in the last episode, we were so cheated. How different it could have been.is anybody ready for closure? I managed to get through the day without checking the posts or rewatch episode 10 until now So there is hope that I will survive the end of Velvet. of course the next two days are going to be nerve wracking. I think I will be content if they pull everything together and have a good ending. Then for me it will become something I will rewatch once a year. I will miss "Alberto" though. I really want to see MAS in another romantic series or movie.

I hope they will tell us one way or another. I highly doubt she wants any part of Enrique, but she might have been forced to stay legally married to him. The show plays with politics of the time for their convenience. So it could probably go either way.
Let's hope Alberto has learned his lesson and will tell her he was a man-ho lol The thing is, Sara was quiet about it, it was vengeful Cristina that outed him. Still, just so Ana doesn't look like a fool in the future, even if they do keep quiet, he should be honest about his past. We know he is hiding something in his travels also. NY is big, they probably won't regularly run into anyone and these women are probably mostly married themselves. Who cares who he slep with in the past, he put a ring on it with Ana.
Lady- I really wish we had been privy to more of Cristina's thought processes. I have to admit, she ended up being quite interesting in Ep 10 when her intentions became clearer. Omg, just thinking about the airport scene makes me laugh. When she was like, I love you, I forgive you and tries to kiss him. I remember when she said it to his picture in the funeral scene and Rita rolled her eyes and was the woman has no shame. Yeah, her nice routine at the beginning was probably an act. She was also probably scared her daughter might reveal something, she covered her mouth when she was about to say she was going to meet a very important person. Though, at that time, she didn't really know who. I also think Cristina really views Ana as her victimizer. If she really was pregnant with Alberto's kid, she would have made their life hell and never would have let Ana near him/her. That's why I never understood Alberto's OVERREACTION to finding out the kid wasn't his. He should have been doing the rumba ππ» after he found out so that he wouldn't be tied to Cristina for life.
I wonder what kind of Barbara will come back. I sort of think she might take the kid. I don't know if Cristina will be in the mental condition to raise her. Well, was she ever?
Alberto has always been rather impulsive. Lol

debmac- I just noticed that, Barbara could possibly be pregnant or it's just the dress. lady, it's so weird that we are two of the more hardcore Cristina haters and now we feel some sympathy towards her. π± I never thought she was pretty at all, but well kept which made her attractive. She was very into appearances, so what happened to her is sort of apropos. If they would have given her some shades of gray the last 2 seasons, even the earlier ones, imagine how much worse we would have felt for her? She should have never returned to Madrid, she should have went to love near Barbara. I always wonder if she believes what she is saying, at least in the moment, like all the stuff she told Alberto in the airport. I'm never quite sure. I still feel overall she isn't completely insane and she does what she does because she feels entitled, is spoiled and can't lose. Her descent is very tragic, especially when you think back to S1 and how how she was riding being Alberto fiancΓ©e, then wife. I think she is done. She is living in her own personal hell. However, she was angrier in that clip than I expected. I did get a kick out of her screaming Fuera (out) that's been her trademark. Maybe she'll blame Barbara for putting the whole thing in motion, but she honestly became a monster all by herself. I really don't feel any sympathy or sadness toward Cristina. Because no one force her to do all the terrible things, she did all on her own, may be Barbara pushed her little but the anger from being rejected is alway fuel her action. I feel very sad for Cris and her life will not be easy to have a single parent like Cristina. On the other hand her biological father seems very gentle and understanding hopefully Cris will end up living with Victor. I have been thinking about the character of Cristina, the writers setup this character from the beginning to be the perfect woman ( Alberto said that a # of times to Mateo and Sera), she is good looking, rich, funny and full of live but things started going wrong with her from her wedding, this is from season 1, she refused Ana's appointment and also refuse to help Raul with his defamation sue. Alberto and Ana's character didn't change much through the whole 4 seasons neither was anyone else but Cristina's character changed enormously, I wonder why? May be we are all wrong about the story of "Velvet", this is not about the love story of Alberto y Ana. It is about obsession, entitlement, relentlessness and destruction. The writer may start off as a love story but gradually the emphasis shifted to the character of Cristina. I think that the setup for a live ending of the final show is a means to shift the story back to the main purpose. I watched episode 10 a number of times, I am not interested in Cristina burning down Velvet, I am not interested in Jonas design, but I am interested in Mateo and Alberto 's friendship start again, Mateo and Clara get back together and most of all Alberto and Ana finally reunited. It is debatable how well the reunion and Alberto Jr's story unfolded , it is also debatable weather many questions or holes get answered or filled. But one thing is undeniable is " how satisfying to see them together again". May be we shouldn't look into this show to deeply because it doesn't try to be " Pride and Prejudice " or "Jane Eyre", it is only a story that touches our heart when we see this two people on screen.

I'm seeing each actor/actress from Velvet on Instagram with the #VelvetLive hashtag, what do they mean with Velvet live? Are they going to do the episode live or?

www.antena3.com/series/velvet/final/velvet-se-despide-para-siempre-con-un-final-unico_201612195857ddb50cf20341e40a0895.html'Velvet 'says goodbye forever with an unique end 'Velvet' says goodbye and will do it big, crossing the screen. The emblematic series of Antena 3, converted after four successful seasons in a social phenomenon, says goodbye this Wednesday December 21 with a long awaited final chapter that will serve as a colophon to which has been one of the most praised productions of the seal 'Series Atresmedia'. This way will be the last chapter of 'Velvet' After the fire of the Galleries caused by Cristina, Albertito has had to be admitted to the hospital, where he was stabilized and soon regains consciousness. There he meets his father for the first time. Alberto is so excited that he asks marriage Ana for the third time and she accepts. With part of the Galleries destroyed by the fire, Marco announces to the employees that an investor comes to buy the business. Will Cristina's irresponsible action jeopardize the sale of the Galleries and, with it, the future of the employees? Cristina has been sunk and disfigured by the serious burns she has suffered. Only Barbara, who returns, will take pity on her. Mateo and Clara have a wonderful date. Everything is smiling to them. They are happy ... can this be the definitive return of the couple? For her part, Rita has a dizziness, from which she recovers before Clara sees her. Alberto is surprised that Ana did not get the letters he sent from New York and, after going to the Post Office, he discovers that Carlos bribed the postman to keep them for him. On the occasion of his return and of the wedding, Alberto and Patricia decide to bury the ax of war. Patricia, meanwhile, wants "to put land in the middle" (run away) to forget the death of Valentin. Jonas already has the ticket to Paris and De La Riva has something for him: an elegant suit. He is very proud of him. And melancholy gets him; Especially when he watchs a magazine with Humberto on the cover. (I think Humberto is the blurred man who is walking behind them in the advance) Don Emilio is somewhat sad because he will be alone. Still, no matter how much Ana insists, he is clear: he stays in Madrid. Luckily, Blanca and he have each other and they will go to see the new housing for the employees of the galleries together. Will that complicity translate into a nice romance? (I watched a special where Teresa Fernandez spoke about how Concha Velasco and Aitana wanted a romance with Jose Sacristan. She spoke about how Blanca is not looking romantically anymore so she will be happy to be with someone who cares about her. I watched also in an interview in which Maxi Iglesias was asked if he was going to have a cameo in Velvet and he didn't answer yes or no, he suggested that he didn't know so...I hope Emilio packs them together as the good friend he is and travels to Argentina to meet Petra) The last chapter of 'Velvet' still has many questions to be solved. About 15 mins of the last chapter will be broadcast live yep.

Thank you for the video. So very nice to see more of what's to be expected. Seeing Christina so scarred really bothered me. She was such a pretty woman, even if I didn't like her and everything she did, and now seeing her like this, disfigured, even more angry, and losing the one friend, Barbara, she has by kicking her out of her life made me really sad. I know it's not Ana nor Alberto's fault that she ended up so insane but christ, when you look at her you realize how far into the depths of hell she's fallen. She completely destroyed her life. She gave more meaning to a "woman scorned" than any other woman I've witnessed. I really feel sorry for her. I truly am very curious where does one go from here when you've hit rock bottom? Amusingly if you take the actor out of context to Velvet and see her as an actor she seems to have quite a sense of humor. Ladyfromcanada, I agree, Christina was a pretty women on the outside, but her inner beauty was rotten to the core. It is very sad that Christina allowed her conceited self-righteous upbringing be the down fall of her. This women ruined her life because of what was probably the only rejection she's ever had to endure. She could have had her pick of many other available good men but she wanted the one man she could not have. Now the beauty that she had on the outside looks as ugly as she is on the inside. I think she's possibly angry at Barbara for encouraging all of her bad behaviors. If Barbara had encouraged Christina to move on with her life I believe she would have made different decisions. The fought is her own though because she knew what she was doing was wrong. She can't blame Barbara. My mom use to say "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink." Christina mad bad choices and now she is paying for them.

Camille I like how you described her ending. The beauty she had on the outside matches the ugliness she has in her heart. Sadly so true.
Primusaurs I think we all agreed many times in many posts that this was more a story of Christina than of Alberto and Ana. The presumption was Alberto and Ana which kept us engaged and wanting more but ultimately it was about obsession, entitlement, relentlessness, and destruction as you so eloquently put it. The perfect woman is severely and insanely flawed all because she can't have what she thinks is rightfully hers. That concept doesn't resonate because one you can't break up a marriage and she doesn't understand why Alberto doesn't love her. Ana is her nemesis because in her mind Ana is what's keeping them apart. If Ana wasn't in the picture Alberto would surely love her and be with her. And there is an element of truth to that.
Alberto made up his mind to proceed with the marriage because he felt guilty for sleeping with her and he felt compelled to honor the agreement with Gerado to save Velvet and I think he thought he could make it work because I do belive he cared for her. But spending time with Ana even though she moved on in S2 only reinforced that he could never have with Christina what love he had for Ana. Never in a million years. What he had with Ana was a trust and friendship so deep that when he said to Christina "he wanted to start living" he meant that. Ana made him the happiest when they were together. It was comfortable and natural and very genuine. Their trip to NY exposed in a lovely way how more alike they were than different, how at ease they were because they shared a trust and a friendship first. I love how Alberto is so content, and he'grinning with happiness, when he's sitting on the floor, next to Ana, sewing these silly uniforms for the presentation. It's for those moments that we watched hopeful that they would get back together.
Christina's role in Velvet serves one purpose to keep them apart. We watched in facination, at least I did, how systematically she sought to destroy that love. To create doubt, to separate then but try as hard as she could and she did succeed at times, in the end she couldn't break the bond of true frienship. Then figure in Alberto Jr.
Maybe that's the moral of this fairy tale. That true friendship succeeds even in the face of hardship and life's zingers. Chistina couldn't understand that as everything in her life was superficial. That's why she behave the way she did towards Raul and subsequently Ana because to her friendship was superficial and superfulous. To be discarded at times when not of benefit. Patricia and Enrique also suffered from the lack of connection. Enrique's concern for his sister was for appearances only. Patricia never accepted her brother as a friend, someone to value until he died. That was the only time I saw in Patricia remorse for taking Alberto for granted. On the other hand look at Mateo and Alberto, their friendship with Raul. The girls in the workroom. Rita and Clara's friendship with Ana. Mucho examples of friendship, loyalty, and trust. This is a love story of friendship and basically what it looks like when you don't have it. We see a very lonely, disfigured Christina kicking out her last connection to a friend, Barbara.

i just realized that my niece's Christmas concert will be tomorrow night during episode 11!! For a half second I contemplated missing the concert but that would have proven to my family how obsessed I am about Velvet. Hopefully I will be able to see the whole episode later on on artesmedia. Of all nights...
