The cover art is all over the place. LOL Thanks for posting! I like how fast the DVDs come out, I wish for US shows it was that quick. But anyway, if you're buying from the US can you buy from the europe/spain amazon? I've never bought from another country's amazon before so I was just wondering about that.

The cover art is all over the place. LOL LOL, I know. You can! It just takes a lot longer to arrive, of course, but it can be done. I have an account with Amazon UK, but it's been a while so I can't remember if I had to create it or if it just accepted my username and password from the American site.

^Alright cool. I was always wondering about that but wasn't sure. I want the DVD but I'm not sure if I should just wait until they eventually come out with an English subbed one but the fact remains that we may never get one so I may just cave. lol I know enough spanish to buy the DVD without the English Subs but it'd still be nice to have them. I do have a region 2 player as well so I'll see but for now I guess Netflix will have to do

But I really don't think we'll ever get them; the production company would need proof that the English-only/non-Spanish speaking audience is large enough to warrant a re-release, and I don't know how they'd get that proof, especially since Netflix doesn't release its ratings information. Plus, if they didn't do it with Gran Hotel (which was actually aired in the UK), I don't think they'd do it for Velvet.

^Yeah that's true. Knowing myself, I'll eventually cave and buy them. As long as there's spanish subtitles it'll be fine. Do you know if amazon gift cards can be used on a different country site?
Btw that blu ray cover is a lot better. lol I would buy that version but my region 2 player doesn't play blu rays.

Ooh, good question...I don't know. The Blu Ray cover is SO much better. No idea why they didn't just use that cover for both.

So I don't know any Spanish and I live in the U.S. and I have already watched season 1 and 2 of velvet on netflix and now I am dying to see season 3, if I order through amazon the season 3 couldn't I just put English subtitles on my TV to watch it?

Hi! I'm in the same boat you are (U.S. viewer who doesn't really know Spanish...just isolated words here and there). Unfortunately, as of right now the DVDs don't come with English subtitles or closed-captions for your TV because the production company making the DVDs evidently didn't realize how popular the show would be among English-speakers; they believe(d) only people in Spain would be buying them, so they only included Spanish subtitles. So if you bought the DVDs and turned on the TV's subtitles/captions, all your TV would be able to pick up would be the Spanish subtitles. Fortunately, the board's Admin, VV, has translated all of the S3 episodes into English so you can watch them online with English subtitles...here is the link to the main post: fyeahgranhotelandvelvet.tumblr.com/post/135731194107/velvet-season-3-english-subsJust click the episode you want, click the "CC" button on the video, and select "English" and when the episode begins after the credits roll you should see the subtitles pop up.

Never mind I figured out why the subtitles were not popping up, it was because I was trying to use my phone. When I used my computer the subtitles popped up beautifully! Thank you! I'm starting tonight as soon as I get home! Lol love this show

Yay glad you figured it out! Those s3 subs took me awhile to do so I want as much people to get as much use from them. And yes please come back and post your thoughts once you're all finished. It would be cool if the DVDs did come with more than just one language subtitles though.

Just updating you guys -- Amazon Spain has changed the release date of the DVD and Blu-Ray to January 14th. Also, the old (not pretty) cover art for the DVD has been replaced...now the DVD cover art is the same as the art for the Blu-Ray.
