I loved her in the beginning and felt sorry for her for having been deceived by her father and Alberto for the sake of saving the store. She had a good heart and always wanting to resolve family issues for the sake of peace. I really felt bad for her until she listened too much to her sister-in-law, Barbara. Can.'t wait to see Season 4. I hope that she ends up with someone who will love her and her child and that she will get over Alberto.

I agree with you that Cristina was likable in S1. As much as I love watching Barbara, she was a horrible influence on Cristina. What Cristina needed in S3 was for someone to stand by her side while also convincing her to move on with her life.
I had high hopes for Victor, but he wasn't the right option for her either.

Like you, I liked Cristina in season 1 (until she forbade Ana to leave the day of her wedding, I think it was selfish) even though I never wanted her to end up with Alberto. She is a nice girl, she truly loves Alberto and love him for a really long time and she is just unlucky that he doesn't loves her back. Then, I really disliked her in season 2 and 3 (especially season 3), but no matter how much I disliked the way she acted, I understand her and her hate for Anaso i can't totally hate her. I can't wait to see what will happen with her in season 4. I'm curious to know if she will truly be friend with Ana or if she fakes it (I can't believe they really can be friends but why not) and what she will do about Alberto.

I kind of enjoy Christina as a villain a lot more then when she was moping about begging for Alberto to love her. Her scheming with Barbara is really fun to watch. I think to a certain extent she has always been quite selfish and scheming, even in season 1 I think a lot of her actions were coming from a place of extreme self interest - she hasn't ever loved Alberto in an unselfish way imo, he was like a prize she wanted to win so she did whatever she could to earn his affection and I think thats where a lot of her anger came from in season 3.
I would be down for Ana and Christina being friends - but I feel like that wouldn't be very in character? But who knows, a lot can happen in a time jump.

Like you, I liked Cristina in season 1 (until she forbade Ana to leave the day of her wedding, I think it was selfish) Agreed, that was totally selfish. I was a little shocked by it actually at the time because it seemed so uncharacteristic and needlessly mean. I was never really sure whether the writers wanted us to see that as a mask slipping or if it was just supposed to be a plot-driven way to increase the tension between them. That incident and Cristina turning her back on Raul took some of her shine off heading into S2. Yeah, what gets me is that she apparently loved him as long as Ana did...she and Alberto have commented on how they used to play together as kids, and she visited him in London during his exile, IIRC. Because she didn't know about Ana, she wouldn't have seen Alberto in any sort of serious relationship (assuming he was mostly single in London, which I think he probably was). So, from her perspective, she herself would have been the only "significant" woman in Alberto's life. It makes a certain amount of sense that she believed that when he settled down it would be with her. I can't hate her either. First, because she's coming from a place of hurt that I can understand. Second, because I don't see her as a genuine threat to Ana/Alberto (I'm capable of massive hate for third parties of certain other show's triangles, LOL). I also didn't like the scissors attack...I hold that against the writers, not the character. I just thought that was a step too far. I don't know that I can see them as friends, but I could see them eventually becoming reluctant allies if they were ever somehow thrown on the same side of an issue. One thing I would like to see in S4, though I'm not sure I'll get it, is a scene where they have a calm and clear-eyed hashing out of their issues. I kind of enjoy Christina as a villain a lot more then when she was moping about begging for Alberto to love her. Yeah, that was tedious. I do like the way the writers contrast them, especially in scenes with other characters (like Patricia or Victor or Enrique). She's definitely spoiled in S1 and the scheming, I can see that, too. I'm thinking back to how she skillfully worked Raul over until he agreed to work with Velvet. A final note on Cristina: one of the cleverest writing choices of S2 was her defense of/sympathy for Don Rafael and frosty relationship with Isabel. On the surface, it merely looked like yet another way to create a rift in Alberto/Cristina's marriage, but underneath the conflict there was all sorts of delicious subtext playing on Cristina's relationships/history with both Marquez men and her own creeping fear/denial that Alberto was about to "discard" her like Rafael "discarded" Isabel (not the same situation, but Cristina would certainly see similarities). One day I want to do a blog about it.

Christina was obsessed with Alberto. She stalked him every chance she could. She admitted she was after him for a long time. She knew he had no real interest in her. He didn’t kiss her back, proposal came out of no where. She saw how in love Alberto was when he talked about Ana during truth or dare. When she told Alberto about the scar on her hip it was an early indication how as a child she was manipulative. Her own brother told Alberto she always got her way. She said Alberto was the man of her dreams but she didn’t really know him. She failed to listen to Alberto when he told her how he was feeling about her brother and she would never let him be his feisty self. She married someone who didn’t love her and she knew it. I had no sympathy for Christina she was stuck up and pretended to be a nice person. She was nice only when everything was about her. Ana tried to move on and live her life but at every turn Christina was in the way making everything about herself. She pretended to be a nice person. Ana was nice all the time. Christina was no Ana.
