Premiere day has finally arrived! Let the discussions begin. What did you think of the first episode? btw I will try and get subs up quickly I really enjoyed it! It was a lovely surprise to be able to watch it at all tbh as I'm from the UK and hadn't been expecting them to live stream it on YouTube! I don't feel like I can give a proper opinion until I've rewatched it with subs (I'm about to start studying Spanish at uni but I still can't understand a word Jonas and Pedro say - they talk so fast!) but yeah it was great to hear all that feelgood music again and I think they really packed a lot into the first episode. *SPOILERS* I'd been expecting Rita's death but it still absolutely broke my heart when Pedro first mentioned her - I will never get over how good an actor Adrian Lastra is! All the Don Emilio stuff was a bit of a shock though - when I saw all the funeral promo pictures I assumed it was to do with Rita so I was not prepared to feel really sad for a second time in one episode! The fact that he'd finally got with Doña Blanca and seemed genuinely happy just made it even worse... I'm excited to see where they'll take the plot line with Sergio though, and it was nice to see Clara and Mateo not fighting for once, though I don't expect it'll last for long- can't wait for more! I've been lurking on this forum for years but I've never actually said anything so a massive thank you for doing the subs!😘

Loved the first episode. Can't believe Emilio passed away so soon. Can't imagine an entire season without him.
Looking forward to the eng subs.

The episode has been posted! Enjoy! (Just click on the link in the first post) thank you <3 cant describe my feelings when I was downloading the video. I have never been so excited about tv series, but this time it was different. All beautiful scenes from Velvet flew across my mind and I felt like I had a chance to live it again. It was like reading favorite book just like the first time but without knowing what will happen.. And when I saw first scenes, It was like yeeeeeeees! They are back, they live their lives are just like I imagined. And that was my first thought about new episode. What I always loved about Velvet is that, it's stylish, it's "oldschool" but still it is like real life, good things - bad things and you never know what to expect, what will happen.. I think that first episode showed us life, which is not neverending, but on the other hand, the most important showed us love... love to ones, who cross throuh our life. Friends, family...love and dedication to work but never forget the one who are there to achieve your goals in life. Live legacy of loved ones <3. Thanks to everyone who make subtitles for us, who doesnt speak Spanish, and thanks to them I had oportunity to have 1 hour of love in front of tv in this world, in which I dont want to turn on tv. Can not wait for next episode.

Just watched the first episode! Thank you so much for posting!
My thoughts...SPOILERS!!
I honestly set the bar low and I was more than blown away. I think the fact that Ana and Emilio were in this episode made it an easy transition in to spin-off. I am so so sad that Emilio passed away but can't say I was too surprised. I am interested to know who Sergio's mother will be...although there was indication on the Instagram that his son is related to Godo. Adrian Lastra is SUCH an amazing actor. I teared up when Rita was brought up! I am really excited to watch more!

Thank you so much for the subs - so happy that I was able to see the first episode.
It was so sad though, I knew about Rita having passed away and Emilio dying but it was still pretty devastating. I really like that they chose not to introduce too many new characters just yet and take it a bit slower to start with

Thank you so much for the subs. I just love seeing the Velvet family back together again. Jose' Sacristan looked younger and leaner and was such a happy Emilio as a newlywed. They have done such an interesting job of making this transition with Emilio's story line. So Sergio is related to Godo, our newest mean character. That would explain the "if looks could kill" look on Emilio's face when Godo arrived at Velvet for the show. Now what is the significance of the little slip of paper that Emilio left behind at the phone booth? There is a story there. I have no clue, unless it has something to do with his son (who knew). Ana has a "brother" or I guess a cousin. I am liking Pedro more as a more mature and responsible father and the young man who is playing Manolito is doing a great job of portraying some of his father's mannerisms. Very sad that Rita had to die, but her loss seems to give some extra depth to both Pedro and Clara's characters. Now if they can get MAS to do a couple of surprise guest visits at crucial times in the story I will be a very happy fan. And I could do without the Ortegeis showing up again.

Thank you so much for the subs! I am learning Spanish, and could understand the plot points and most conversations, but the nuances escaped me. I really appreciate the time you take to translate.
I enjoyed the episode (and knew Emilio would die, so I wasn't surprised) but few things seemed off. First, Don Emilio and Dona Blanca never had any romantic chemistry on the show, and when the writers seemed to be pushing them together in the final episodes of the original Velvet, I just didn't buy it. Aside from their lack of chemistry, he was older by at least thirty years, and their relationship seemed contrived. It's as though the writers didn't know what to do with the two over-40 characters, so they just tossed them together.
Also, PE really needs to learn the difference between acting-crying and laughing; if you were unware of the context of that scene, it would be hard to tell which emotion she was trying to convey. However, Adrian Lastra (sp?--the actor who plays Pedro) is brilliant.
