Thank you all for the fantastic and useful contributions during the show. I enjoyed the series very much. However, I think the final episode was the lamest of all. Really? Another failed "boda"? And then yet ANOTHER dress? And yes, what's with the hair? Too many discrepancies, oh, and also too many BLINDFOLDS!! Anyway, hoping for another good Spanish series soon!

The airplane note left to his son was burnt by Patricia on Christmas. I believe it was on season 2. She was eating Christmas dinner by herself. The same night Pedro proposed to Rosa Marie. I can not leave the Velvet World yet. Im watching it over and over.

The first wedding is your regular 60s wedding with a 60s wedding dress in a regular place used a lot for weddings, Toledo www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyflpPbLIIs the second wedding is a fairy tale wedding with a fairy tale wedding dress in a fairy tale scenario granted by fairy godmother Raul.

I agree with everyone's assessment of this final episode. It had some wonderful heartwarming moments like little Alberto waking up and thinking he was in heaven because his papa was there, some clever nods, a lovely, albeit awkward resolution for Ana and Alberto and their son. Loved Raul's toast to all of us "to the fairy tale". But so many strange holes.
Did anyone see an explanation for why Clara and Mateo broke up in the first place or did I miss it? Why have Rita's cancer come back? Seems very harshly unnecessary when she and Pedro have no jobs now maybe and a family to raise. Do we just imagine what Alberto is going to be able to tell the employees in two weeks? Is Alberto paying their rent in the meantime? If so how long will he do that if a viable business can't be found? Seems like some open possibilities for future series.
So many other open ended issues, requiring much suspension of disbelief. I think that the final episode of Grand Hotel was one of the most perfectly executed endings ever; very elegantly done with closure for everyone. Velvet could have done that with news reports at the end as they have done at the end of every previous season.
Regardless, I loved Velvet for four years and will watch this season once again when Netflix puts it out. In the meantime MAS is in Sense8 and will be in Narcos so we can still get a fix from time to time. And one day very soon Netflix will send us a notice that there is a new show we might like and the first season of Cable Girls will be there.

Have you ever seen him as El Duque along with Amalie Salamanca (Barbara) in a gangster related series...it has a long name. He is a murderer but he falls in love with Cati and tries to protect her. I don't understand the dialogue but he is really good in it. I am going to try to track down a subbed version of it and watch it while I am waiting for Netflix to put season 4 on. in it

Have a very hard time finding this link. I cannot watch MAS in Sense8. I've tried I cannot. This is a topic my co-worker and I have had. Yes MAS by doing Sense8 gives him more international exposure...but for me Velvet is much more prestigious work. Sense8 is nowhere near as popular as Velvet is in Spain. I think the writing in Sense 8 (storyline) is weak. I guess for the actors who get to travel all over the world to film their intertwining scenes must be fun..BUT I as an actor would rather be in a hit show in Spain that has millions of viewers. Than another sci-fi show that does not have a huge following.

Not only the character in Sense8 does not fit our image of MAS but also the story sucks. I got through one or 2 episodes in the first season and no more than 10 minutes of the Christmas special. Just can't stand the series especially when so many choices out there why bother with this.

They tried because MAS was in it but found hard to get through it. The story is such a nonsense and the actors are not any better. I agree with you is better in a hit show than something like S8. Sometimes an actor could commit professional suicide if they don't choose roles wisely. From Velvet we see MAS as a very solid actor in every scene but from S8 his character is not identifiable although his skill as an actor is so much better than the rest of them. The following is another issue too.

I can not leave the Velvet World yet. Im watching it over and over. Yes, I got that, but I just wanted to know what exactly was in the note. I inferred it was a confession about Alberto's dad having left Alberto's mother, how he took Alberto from her, but still...

I have not watched sense8 because it doesn't look like something that I would like but I'm looking forward to narcos, but I think he plays a dark kind of character that's full of hatred. I have watched some of narcos and I do like it. I'm like you guys I hope he chooses carefully. Netflix surely has other love type stories he would be very successful in.im noticing that these great fairy tale stories are coming from Bambu in spain so maybe they will offer him another role at some point. I'm having some major Alberto withdrawals!

I just finished watching the last 2 episodes, late I know. I agree that there were a lot of holes in how they ended the series. Truth be told though, I cried a ton. I loved and disliked how the show ended and, I know it is far fetched, but I truly hope they do a spin off or something like someone mentioned a long time ago, where they would call it "Silk" and continue with the love and drama. I felt like they kind of danced around his arrival and threw in random story lines just to kill time. They ended up being fairly good, but I was really hoping he would've been in more episodes during this final season, instead of just like 1 1/2. As far as Rita and Pedro, I was so bummed that that is how they ended her story line. Why couldn't she have just been cancer free and it have ended on a happy/positive note for all of the characters?! Did anyone else feel sad for Don Emilio because Alberto, Ana, and Alberto Jr. are leaving just like that? That made me cry a ton lol. This is my first Spanish soap opera and to say that I have loved it is an understatement; I am sad to see it end, but it was definitely a great series overall.
