THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I'm about halfway through the episode now. I will probably watch again when Netflix puts it on so I can see the Spanish subtitles. I can understand quite a bit that way. Anyway so far I'm liking it although it does feel rushed. The only thing I'm confused on is what is happening to Velvet? It's just going to close its doors? I get the workers are moving to new housing and I get why but how will they earn a living?
Although I don't like the choice of NYC, Alberto and Ana leaving always made sense. After everything they need to start anew. I used to imagine they'd run Velvet together and that way the show could keep going lol but I knew that wouldn't happen. They need to spread their wings.
I get why Emilio isn't going. He's lived his life and he wants to let Ana and Alberto live theirs.
The scenes between Alberto and Alberto Jr in the hospital were touching. I understood all of it except for the little exchange between Emilio and Alberto. If they spoke slower I would've gotten it all lol.
I loved the confrontation between Carlos and Alberto. I understood most of it when I watched without the subtitles. Carlos has real malice for Alberto you could see it in his eyes. He got off on raising Alberto's child and being with Ana while everyone believed he was dead. But Ana doesn't love him LOL. She made that clear in S2. I know for writing purposes bringing in another love interest would've been too much but that's why the 5 year time jump was ridiculous.
Mateo and Clara are hilarious! They are so perfect for each other.
I love how focused Alberto is. He's back to tie up loose ends, claim his family and start a new life. It reminds me of the end of S2 after his mother dies and he's determined to re-claim Ana and live his life.
I can see there is definitely room for a spinoff. Ana and Alberto's story is done, as sad as I am to admit it but I think leaving some stories unfinished was intentional. If they could get MAS and PE at the same time they could make guest appearances so we could at least see what's happening to them in NYC. I'll take what I can get!
Off to watch the second half.

Thank you so much for the early Christmas gift. Episode 11 was great. I loved the wedding, it was magical. I was glad Carlos got a beating. I would love if Carlos saw the wedding in the newspaper and realized he lost her and his misery. I would have loved to see a better ending for Pedro and Rita. I'm really going to miss Velvet and this blog. Hope to see you in another Spanish show, blogging again. Thank you.

Second half:
I'm glad Patricia and Alberto had a reunion and reconciliation. But it's easy to say the past is the past when you're getting ready to leave and start a new life. Nevertheless I'm glad they addressed Alberto not having his mother there to stand for him. I wonder where Patricia's mother is LOL.
Poor Pedro and Rita! I know it's realistic but I hate that the writers did this to them. I liked MAS' portrayal of being genuinely concerned and sympathetic but still keeping a distance because Pedro is not someone he's particularly close to. One thing I didn't like this season but it happened in Downton Abbey too is the blurring of social lines as the seasons go on. We saw it with Mateo and Pedro this season and I didn't particularly like it. I like that kind of tension between the characters, it's what gives the show magic.
I LOVE Raul! After Ana and Alberto he's my 3rd favorite character! He's just hilarious. I'd love to see a spin off with him.
I loved the scene between Ana and Rita before the wedding. I know Clara, Ana and Rita have become the 3 Musketeers kinda but Ana and Rita are truly best friends. I felt for Rita being happy for her friend but keeping her own secret about the cancer being back.
I like Ana's second wedding dress WAAAAAAAYYYYY more than her first. That was hideous. But Ana's hair looks longer. Hmmm. The nighttime smaller wedding was perfect. Much more intimate and more like Ana and Alberto.
Raul and Humberto finally got together!! I've been rooting for these two since midway through the season when I figured out Humberto was gay lol. So happy Raul found someone. He's always so happy for everyone I'm glad he found some happiness for himself.
The ending scene with Ana and Alberto on the roof was perfect. And they played my favorite song! I always pictured the show ending that way.
I'm so sad the show is over but Ana and Alberto are together forever and that's what I always wanted. This show and Ana and Alberto will always have a special place in my heart. If MAS and PE ever do another show or a movie together, I'm there! They have magical chemistry and they genuinely like working with each other.
Thank you everyone for doing the subtitles!

I too thank you for all your hard work. I loved the ending. Can someone explain what is happening to Velvet. I think it is going to open as a current department store. It can';t be finished why would Alberto get them new housing?
Happy holidays to all and to all a good night.

I'm re-watching the scenes and it looks like Alberto re-purchased Velvet only to sell again. After the fire Marco and his dad no longer have any interest in it. So Velvet's future is left uncertain because Alberto's going to find a new buyer that can bring life to it, it just won't be him. Mateo's returning to the magazine. But in the meantime Alberto secured housing for the workers since it was destroyed in the fire. That's why Blanca and Emilio were saying they didn't know what the future held but toasted to it making the best of it or something like that. Theoretically there could be a spin-off as to what happens after Alberto and Ana leave for NYC. It's weird because why would Enrique and Cristina give up their shares so quickly?

The door seemed opened for even Ana and Alberto to come back. I wasn't sure if Alberto was going to resell the store or not, seemed like he might be hiring a mangagement company to run it. It felt like there were a lot of mixed messages. He's going to give the employees housing, but Raul was talking about having to find another job. Why can't they rent or use Ana's other location as a workshop in the meantime? I was surprised by Carlos saying he'll find Alberto and Ana. I thought the book would be closed on that and it seemed he has gone all Cristina. Cristina is still out there too, whether she lives near Barbara or not. I don't think Ana would leave Madrid if she knew Rita was sick again. For some reason, I see Ana and Alberto returning to Madrid after a year or two.

Like if someone wanted to come back and continue the show they could which is weird since everyone keeps saying it's the end. I wish the writers brought everything to a firm conclusion. I was surprised by Carlos saying he would find Ana too. Like give it up man! She donwantchu. Why do you care at this point? And with Rita being sick, she and Pedro would have to come clean if it became terminal.
