Wow! I'm finally able to get on board with the discussions. Great!!!!!
MY VIEWS (part 1):
PATRICIA-- was always a crook and sought love in all the wrong places, so much so that she'd stooped the lowest, to acquire that attention. Her mom is a bigger crook and, the main person who did/does not love her. She definitely did not like Alberto either, but he recognized it early. There, as a man, he cared very little for Gloria. From all I've read, no one seems to remember her mom! She hid the letter Rafael left for Alberto, tried to blackmail him, worked with Pilar and Christina's father to topple Velvet, and was part-instrumental in leaking key information to the press. Look at how she encouraged Patricia to marry Valentine. And all this just because she wanted Velvet. Patricia realized that ugly side of her too (too late) and tried to get on Alberto's good side but he thwarted her; couldn't trust her. Remember the negative comments she made at the dinner Christina hosted for his mom. Yet she'd already known the truth, and had already burnt the letter her mom gave her, left by Rafael for Alberto. Also, how Patricia spied on A/A and even picked from Ana's coat pocket, the message from A to Ana to meet him on the rooftop. Tha's how pick-pocketers steal money from unsuspecting consumers in many countries. They were that swift. If Patricia was that swift, she couldn't be any good. I have no sympathy for her. She's unscrupulous and needs to go to jail for murdering Valentine. He did not deserve to die like that.
Remembering Patricia's deeds regarding Valentine, has me quite appalled at the writers for allowing Ana to do the same-- marry someone she doesn't love and who's filled with abusive, physical, and controlling qualities!!!! Additionally, why subject an innocent sweet child to such behavior. And, back in the 60s, most men got away with abusive habits since there were little laws to govern such behavior. Today, it's way better, once the victim(s) cooperate with the law.
ENRIQUE-- also grew without love. He was always in his sister's (Christina) shadows, because she was most loved by their father, and, was adept at manipulating "daddy" to get everything she wanted-- spoiled little rich girl!! Enrique, wanting to be a man (he has no balls), thought he could control Patricia, but failed. He blatantly screwed around in Patricia's face. yet, was hopping made when she left him. But, that lasted little time, because Patricia was/is more accommodating and he thinks she loves him. Do you see how he walks in her shadows??? Pitiful. And even though he's pathetic like his sister, he's also easily manipulated. Dumb.
CHRISTINA-- Insists that Ana betrayed her trust. No such think. Christina is the one who befriended Ana and was eager to blabber (run her mouth about Alberto, the wedding plans, etc. etc. etc. She now blames Ana, because misery is always looking for company and attention, the same as Patricia.
PATRICIA-- was miserable in her marriage and wanted a misery-partner. She found that in Christina. She was able to manipulate Christina 95% of the time, seldom stopping to analyze the situation, succeeding all the time. Christina eventually became a pro, and with everything else surrounding her>> her childhood, lifestyle, etc., she's become a raging inferno thus, "hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn." Everything else in life she's gotten, except the one thing she wanted/wants (not need) and cannot have, no matter how she's tried and is still trying. Again, daddy's selfish, spoiled little-rich-girl. SHE'S SO TRYING TO LOOK AT, BUT, HER STORY-ACING IS, IN ACTUALITY, REAL LIFE HAPPENINGS. I have first-hand experience. Funny though, despite the ritzy life-style, country clubs, expensive travels etc., she's was so unlearned about life's lessons AND STILL IS. Regarding the baby, many women played that trick on men in those years, only to be gossiped about; often kept at a distance, as the child grew. But yet, at time, often overlooked back then (depending on the level of society status). Today, the men go for "DNA." Anyway, who gave Christina that idea? Barbara! Who told Christina to wear a false pregnancy stomach! Barbara! Who set her up a party to meet suitors? Barbara! The only thing smart that Christina did, was choose someone she could manipulate because she wanted to claim Alberto as the father. As it turned out, that backfired (as insipid as the real daddy looked, he went back home and got engaged.... In other words, Christina was green at first about the ways of the world, yet spoiled and selfish to be extremely devious, all because the "one" thing she wants, she couldn't/wouldn't have -- Alberto. She's also murderous because Alberto's heart belongs to, WHAT SHE CONSIDERS, "a low-life"
But I agree with all-- no more Christina. Enough is enough.
QUESTION: Although this is a script, why is one person (Ana) suffering so much. I do hope this is not real life in Spain, even in the 60s.
Ana, in comparison, was at lease able to detect Carlos' dark side, and very early (and this is only "1" comparison).
ANA-- despite popular belief, is wearing some conservative but nice, chick clothes; My mom and ants are from that era, including myself, and that was the fashion then for people of such caliber. So folks, please, go easy on Ana. T'was the era. Ditto to the other recent comments on Ana on page 69/70. The comments captured my sentiments.
THE KIDS--- A spin-off. Seriously!!! Pleeeeeeease writers, no spin-offs on the kids. That would certainly kill the "velvet flavor". Leave such for the American writers who turns every such story into a "soap opera-- everyone sleeping with the other one." Yuk. Soooooo disgusting. Pathetic.
In addition, why would any parent want his/her child to associate with someone like Christina. Forgive, yes! But associate, No! Some people can only be loved from afar (and this statement applies to "real life.")
SIMILARLY-- ANA/MATEO-- as a love-pair. Wrong! Sooooo wrong. Why?? He's Alberto's good friend (for crying out aloud). Is that what good friends do to each other!!! That's akin to my best friend sleeping with my husband or the one I'm dating. Come on folks!!!
Love A/A
THE PLOT-- I believe that Alberto is working in the background to eventually drop some atomic bombs on Christina, Enrique, and Patricia. Which is why we heard nothing more of Adel. I believe he's also behind the cosmetics line, and that Marco is working with him, bizarre as this may sound.....
I will continue this later
