SUMMARY
(A better summary will be added later.)
ANA RIVERA: Ana tells Carlos that she needs time to consider his proposal and speak about it with Alberto, Jr., and Carlos agrees. Then, Ana spends much of her time during the episode informing family and friends (Emilio, Mateo, Rita, and Clara) of Carlos' proposal and wondering aloud if it is even possible for her to move on from Alberto, whom she still dreams about every night. She also tries to distract herself from Carlos' proposal by focusing on her plans for Aurorita's old workroom, which she proudly shows off to Rita and Clara, noting that the shop is in such good shape that they'll be able to start running it soon.
Meanwhile, Cristina correctly concludes to Carlos that the best way to get Ana to accept Carlos' proposal is to go through Alberto, Jr. To that end, she devises a plan to invite Alberto, Jr., Ana, and Carlos to Cris's upcoming birthday party so that Carlos will be able to become closer to Alberto, Jr.
Even though Ana is wary of allowing Alberto, Jr. and Cris to interact, she eventually agrees to let Alberto, Jr. attend the party. While he is there, he bonds more with both Cris and Carlos. Then, after the party, as Ana, Alberto, Jr., and Carlos are walking home, Carlos brings up the subject of the proposal. Alberto, Jr. is excited at the idea of having Carlos in their family. This spurs Ana to accept Carlos' proposal, and they share a kiss.
RITA/PEDRO: Pedro is devastated when he finds Rita's cancer diagnosis papers, and after he confronts her and vows to help her recover, they go to the doctor's office to find out about the surgery. Unfortunately, it'll cost far more money than they have. As Rita worries about the best way to finally tell Ana that she is sick, Pedro starts calling friends and family in search of enough money for the surgery. When he comes up short, he pays a visit to Marco and Enrique to ask for an advance on his pay. Marco scoffs, but Enrique surprisingly agrees to the loan if Pedro will do him and Marco a favor later that night. Pedro readily agrees without knowing what the favor is. It is only that evening that he learns that Enrique wants him to break into Aurorita's dress shop and destroy the rooms and all of the equipment (part of Enrique and Marco's plan to take down Ana). Pedro is so desperate to help Rita that he has no choice but to agree; first, he breaks down in tears telling Jonas what he's agreed to do, and then the two men go to the shop and use sledgehammers to smash everything in sight. At the end of the episode, a bloody and bruised Pedro returns home and presents the money to a horrified Rita, who will now undoubtedly have questions about how he got it.
CLARA/MATEO: Things are tense between Clara and Marco, as he confronts her about his having seen her hug Mateo out on the street in the previous episode. At first, it looks like this is the push Clara needs to return to Mateo -- she tells Marco she wants a break from him, goes to visit Mateo's office, and agrees to Mateo's suggestion that they get together later for a real talk about their relationship. Unfortunately, she later gets a call from a magazine writer that gives her the impression that Mateo and the writer have been sleeping together; this leads to another Clara/Mateo screaming match, after which she kisses Marco in front of him. But this doesn't mean that Clara/Marco are back on; when he visits her in her room later, she tells him she is tired of being with men who put their careers ahead of their lives, and she promptly kicks him out of her room.
RAUL/HUMBERTO: Raul is outraged when he learns that Humberto gave an interview claiming that he (Humberto) was the true designer of Raul's collection. Of course, Raul demands an apology, which Humberto (who is currently holed up and hungover in his hotel room) refuses to deliver, leaving the task to his manager, Ricardo. Raul takes this as another insult and barges into Humberto's hotel room, where he and Humberto have a heated argument. Later, after Ricardo leaves the room, Humberto admits to Raul that he is a "fraud" and not the man Spain thinks he is. Raul urges Humberto be true to himself and leaves the hotel. After Raul departs, Humberto picks up the phone and calls the newspaper that made the erroneous report, telling the reporter instead that it is actually Raul who designed the collection.
PATRICIA/ENRIQUE/VALENTIN: Patricia is furious when an excited Valentin reveals the news of her pregnancy to Enrique. Later, Enrique asks her if the child is his, and, after she snidely asks him if he would abandon her child as he has abandoned his daughter Lourditas, she tells him that the baby is actually Valentin's.
JONAS INFANTES: Jonas is surprised by the arrival of his little sister, Antonia, who tells him that she has come to stay in Madrid because she is in love with a young man who lives there. Jonas worries about how long she plans to stay...it looks like she could be a handful.
DONA BLANCA: Blanca seems especially pensive this episode, as she takes a phone call from Carmen and confides in Emilio her worry that she has been letting her life slip away from her without getting what she wants.
