More information about the show from one of the creators, Gema R. Neira. laguiatv.abc.es/noticias/20160815/abci-entrevista-gema-niera-bambu-201608121631.html* The story begins in Madrid in 1928 with the first call between the United States and Madrid. * Of the four main characters, one is a mother, one is a single girl "from the people" (maybe that means from a village?), one is a girl who hides a secret, and another is "high class" and struggles against her wealthy family's ideals. * If Google Translate is correct, the creator says that one of the women will be a more prominent characters than the others, but she likens it in a way to Velvet, which has a main love story (Ana/Alberto) and other stories in addition to that. * She says that the show will tackle ideas like being a working mother, the limited job prospects for women (the creator says that being a telephone operator was the best job women could get at the time) and getting the vote for women. (Note: The women of Spain all received the right to vote in 1931, just a few years after this show takes place.) * She says that while the show has a "feminine profile," she believes men will be interested in it, too. She says there is also focus on the business side of the telephone company. * She is SUPER cagey on casting information, refusing to even confirm that BS is part of the cast. She says casting hasn't finished yet and there's a lot of untrue stories out there about it. Hmmmm.

Yes, I'm so very excited he's in it! Should be great and bring in a lot of GH viewers as well.

I'm really excited for another period piece show in Spain. Really pleased that Yon (Julio is going to be on). looking forward to seeing more characters from GH and Velvet. Who knows a girl can hope.

Has anyone mentioned that Concha Velasco (Petra/Velvet, Angela/Gh) is also joining the cast of Cable Girls? She is officially listed in the IMBD. Very good also!
Just prior to last weeks live episode of Velvet, I watched Juana Acosta (Sara) interviewed with her costar for the new film for Netflix- 7 AƱos - and watched the film today. I thoroughly enjoyed it and her performance.

I'll be interested to see what you think, there's a discussion there - for sure. I especially liked Paco Leon...but they were all terrific and the plot and screenplay, thought provoking. Well Done!!

I'm actually not surprised that Blanca Suarez is in this. haha She and Yon Gonzalez (Julio on GH) have worked a lot together. She was also in El Internado and dated MAS for a few years. I have yet to see any of her work, I've been meaning to watch El Internado though but by the time I do, this show will probably already be out. LOL Can't wait to see who else gets casted. She is in the movie Off Course (Perdiendo El Norte) with Yon Gonzalez on Netflix! The Spanish film and tv industry is so 'incestuous' in the sense that the same actors pop up time and again in different combinations
