The official Antena 3 site has confirmed that Adele's secret is that she knows where Alberto is. Some other details: she works for a studio in New York called Silk, and she's in Madrid because Ana wants to make a deal with them (I'm assuming it has something to do with the "ready to wear" clothes). The press release says that the secret about Alberto is the "real" reason Adele comes to Madrid, and that her arrival will change everything. Additionally, there's a new interview out with LG (Jonas) where he dropped some spoilers for Jonas' story -- thank you to VV for confirming the Google Translation, which was very rough: * Jonas has changed in the last five years...he is more polished and not as loud and obnoxious. * He has found his area of expertise in the store: not selling clothes, but sewing them. * His shift from selling to sewing clothes will somehow affect his relationship with Pedro. I'm not thrilled that there's no mention of Patricia in the article, but I'm happy that the show is picking back up Jonas' talent for sewing. I've been rewatching S3 on Netflix and I realized that I forgot how he was helping Ana and the others sew clothes for Dona Aurora's shop. And, finally, there's a new interview out with AS (Barbara) where she briefly mentions again that the door is open for her to cameo in Velvet. (Thank you VV for the help with the translation!) However, it doesn't sound like such a cameo has been filmed so far...just that it's a possibility. (Most of the interview is about her new series, La Embajada, which isn't doing very well in the ratings and is on the bubble for S2.) |

Who knows what happened. Again I agree why would Alberto stay away for so long. From what I recall none of the letters had an address for Ana to mail Alberto. No? Why would the writers not get Ana and Alberto together finally in the end.? We'd all get mad at the writers at least I would. For those who haven't been on the Velvet FB page do so. Someone posted a picture that the actor Alberto released and its him with Christina not Ana. My Spanish isnt great so im not 100% sure what was written but something about Cristina returning and not telling Alberto the truth or wanting to tell him the truth. Can someone who speaks better then me translate it. Thanks I hope Ana didnt get with Carlos. |

Dear watcher of Velvet,
Carlos was sly. He paid the postman to send Albert's letters to his home address and continues to do so. Ana never received his letters. Ana still thinks he's dead. Before Carlos did this he found out Alberto was alive. They sent him a letter saying so, the airline did. But he is selfish and let's everyone think Alberto is dead because he wants Anna for himself. And I'm currently eagerly waiting for Season 4. I'm dying for Anna to learn the truth. Everyone deserves to know Albert is alive.

^Thanks for the article. Some good stuff in there regarding Alberto's return.
-It does say that Alberto's been in America.
-Alberto is gonna deal with his new role as a father
-He says this is his first time playing a father and it's been going really well. Aitor, the actor who plays Alberto Jr, is six years old and is doing a great job. He loves filming with kids.
-As to whether or not the show will be renewed for a fifth season, MAS says that if the creators "are sure that it's the last season, they won't stretch it."
Although he wouldn't mind it ending because something powerful, amazing, and a change of genre awaits him.
I'm not 100% sure what he means about that last part but I guess it could just mean that he's excited for a new project once Velvet does come to an end.

Alberto being in America is definitely big news, but that does explain how/why Adele knows his whereabouts.
His comments about a potential S5 are sort of discouraging...definitely the opposite of PE, who seems to want it to keep going. I don't know how that would work, though, if Ana was present for a S5 and Alberto wasn't...they can't do a redo of Alberto being "dead," and it's not plausible that they would allow themselves to be separated again after five years apart (i.e., it wouldn't make sense for Alberto to take a temporary job somewhere else or something to explain MAS's absence). But it's also hard to imagine Bambu telling PE they don't need/want Ana in S5 without Alberto if PE wants to stay on.
Re: what awaits him, my first thought was that it was a reference to going back to work on Sense8, though it could also be a totally new project that just hasn't been formally announced yet.
Whatever happens re: S5 or no S5, I just want everyone to be on board with it/happy with it.

Hi everyone. Just wanted to say I found this board online after finishing the third season of Velvet. I found out about this awesomely addictive show on Netflix, LOL! I can't understand Spanish, but I didn't mind reading the English subtitles. I couldn't help but read the spoilers section, of course! I skimmed through the discussion on this thread and read that there may be a possibility there is an American version of Velvet. If this is true, I can't wait for it, but I wonder if it will be as good as the original, which I doubt, but I hope I am WRONG! In America, there just aren't a lot of shows I enjoy watching, but we especially do not have romantic shows like Velvet!!! Yeah, maybe Mad Men takes you back to around the same time period as Velvet, but it wasn't a romantic show like this and being a romantic myself, I wish there were more shows like Velvet in America. Also, correct me if I am wrong, but didn't televenova produce another Spanish show I discovered on Netflix called a Time in Between? That miniseries was the best miniseries I've ever seen in my life, my only complaint was, I wish there was more romance, lol. And the same actor who played Carlos in Velvet also starred in that miniseries as the main girl's love interest! I must say, telenova doing a great job producing film with great story lines. I can't wait to see Season 4 and wonder what the date is for the season 4 premiere. I like Anna's short haircut. And like many here, I'm surprised about the five year jump period. They could have just done like a two year period or something. But I also agree as a poster mentioned in this thread that maybe Alberto came back to Velvet and saw her with Carlos and little Alberto Jr. and thought she moved on, so he decided to leave again. But in real life, prob the most likely scenario is that Alberto would confront Anna immediately about it and not run off, if in fact, this was the reason for the 5 year gap. I like Carlos in A Time in Between, but I hate him in Velvet! LOL  I also have sympathy for Christina. Although she has her character flaws, I believe she really loved Alberto in her own selfish way, and didn't deserve to be treated by Alberto like that. I hated Anna for persuading him to marry Christina just to save Velvet, but I guess that shows how much she loved Alberto. And I think in a way, Alberto making that deal with that man that now owns his shares of the company and in making Anna a world famous fashion designer, has come full circle with Anna. It shows both their sacrifices for one another, in my opinion. I just hope in season 4, they get their happy ending because they really belong together!!! |

It is true -- Lionsgate (which produces the American show Nashville, among others) has licensed Velvet with plans to adapt it for American audiences. Bambu announced it a few months ago, so the deal is official, but we have no way of knowing when/if Lionsgate will actually get the project off the ground. The Time in Between aired on Antena3 like Velvet does, but I don't think it was produced by Bambu (as Velvet is) but by another company. I haven't been able to watch all of it yet (I was only a few episodes in before I got distracted by new Velvet episodes), but there's a thread discussing it here: We probably won't have an exact date until sometime in August, but it has been confirmed that it will premiere in September. So there's not much longer to wait! I think you're exactly right about all of this. I also loved how Alberto chose to atone for hurting Ana -- giving up Velvet was basically carrying through with what he offered to do in S1. Only in S1, at least he would have been giving it up to have a relationship with Ana. This time, he gave up everything, Ana included, because he really did hear what she said about needing to be without him. It shows so much character growth. |

Another new interview with MAS (Alberto): * He confirms that Alberto has spent the last five years in New York, where Mateo goes to get/find him because something big is about to happen at Velvet. * When Alberto and Mateo meet up again, they have a lot to say and reproach each other for. * He says that when Alberto returns to Velvet, he finds things changed and "upside down." * He says that Alberto will return with a need for revenge. * This article appears to report that there are only five days left to film the rest of S4! Another new interview with MAS: * He says in this one too that Alberto wants revenge after seeing Ana and Carlos together...it churns his stomach. * The article says that Alberto will only be in a limited number of episodes this season but that he's read the finale and he thinks the audience will enjoy it. * MAS says there's a lot Alberto wants to share with Ana. * He also says that there will be a lot of pain and suffering this season but that the audience will get what they've been waiting for. This is a little less exciting, but here it is anyway...
