Yeah, I've been scratching my head over the comment about the main love stories as well. Like you said, PE has expressed a willingness to keep going...the problem is that just as it's hard to imagine Velvet without Ana/Alberto, it's also hard to imagine the writers coming up with plausible reasons to keep them apart once Alberto returns...they COULD find other stories for them as a married couple raising children, but writers of dramas like these usually struggle to write happily-married couples. And of course MAS may be ready to move on.
The only story I can think of giving them is one that we've discussed in the past: Alberto fighting to get back Velvet from the Italians, while Ana faces her own battles and intrigue as a famous designer. So the story wouldn't be "when will they get together?" anymore, but watching them navigate professional difficulties.
Re: Rita/Pedro and Clara/Mateo.... Both of those couples are already sort of "finished" in the sense that they're married...the writers may be thinking that it would be easier to just write them off than try to come up with new stories for them.
But Clara/Mateo are the second-most popular couple on the show, and writing them out while keeping Ana/Alberto would mean depriving Alberto of his only confidant. Just as writing out Rita/Pedro would leave a hole in Ana's life...and Pedro's supposed to be taking over Emilio's job, so the writers would have to come up with a reason for Pedro to take a job elsewhere.
I don't know. Maybe the idea would be a sort of "reboot" for the show...Ana/Alberto (and perhaps Clara/Mateo if MH and JR want to leave) leaving to start anew in Paris or America, Emilio retiring (an interview with one of the showrunners months ago said they were having to work around the schedules of both MAS and JS) and going off somewhere with Petra, while Velvet is left in the hands of Patricia and Marco, who could be aided by whatever characters remain (possibly Raul, Rita, Pedro, Jonas, Blanca, and maybe a reformed Cristina?).

Some new stuff... There's this interview with MV (Cristina) which seems to give more detail than the previous interview. According to Google Translate, she's again saying that Cristina appears to have recovered, that she feels bad for trying to kill Ana, that she has a child now, and that she wants to take up the reins of Velvet because her father left her his share in the company. However, she adds on to that, saying that Cristina appears to be better, but then she finds out that Alberto is alive, and she says he stirs up everything, including "the madness of love." And I think we'll need VV to check on the rest of her answer there, because the Google Translate version makes no sense to me...something about blackmailing Ana? She also says something interesting about how her colleagues react to Cristina's actions, but again Google Translate sucked here. The rest of the interview is about her aunt (she says they just barely have scenes together) and her personal life. teleprograma.fotogramas.es/series-tv/2016/abril/entrevista-manuela-velasco-cuarta-temporada-velvetThen there's another interview with RC. Not really spoiler-y, but adds a few more details to subjects from the previous interview: * He doubles-down on the criticism of S3 and says that S4 will start with drama that will grab viewer "by the balls" (so it won't be as comedic as S3). * If Google Translate is correct, he appears to say that they will make a decision about whether or not to go forward with S5 by the fourth or fifth episode of this season. teleprograma.fotogramas.es/series-tv/2016/abril/final-de-velvet-bambu-netflix

OK so here she is saying that she's recovered thinking that Alberto is far away, but that we'll see what happens once she sees him. And that this will be another "bone of contention" to blackmail Ana.
They basically ask her if she judges Cristina and her answer was that she doesn't. But that during filming, her colleagues will read the script and write "how can she be so terrible" And at times she'll agree, like I wouldn't do that. But then she'll think about it and say "I wouldn't, but Cristina would"

Thank you! Re: the first part, what do you think she means about blackmailing Ana with the information?
Re: the second part, I think it's hilarious that the other actors are commenting on Cristina's behavior. But, you know, as much as I don't like it, it makes sense to me, and I can see why MV would understand Cristina's POV. Cristina grew up privileged and with a father who gave her everything she ever wanted (maybe at least partially because he was trying to compensate for the fact that she'd lost her mother?), so "losing" isn't necessarily something she had a chance to get used to. And from dialogue it sounds like she's been in love with Alberto since they were kids -- that's a lot of years to invest in hoping and praying for a relationship with a guy.
And then she finally gets the relationship only to promptly lose it in a really humiliating way (finding out he cheated on her with "the help" and that her father basically bought her marriage for her), and then instead of dealing with it like a rational person, she refuses to accept reality and starts playing games with Barbara. And then THAT fails and she loses the support of her father and Madrid society/the press.
I just don't think she was built to cope with that much loss. So even though I think attacking Ana with the scissors was over-the-top (if I were the writers, I would have stopped with Cristina pushing her down the stairs -- that was enough to make the point and get her committed), the nastiness toward Ana/Alberto and her mental breakdown doesn't seem OOC, given the way she's built and given the fact that she doesn't really have any talent/ambition to focus on.
I do wonder now, though, whether the other actors are commenting on stuff in the S4 scripts or if she's referring to S3 stuff.

I have no idea. Haha It's Cristina, so I'm sure she'll find some way to blackmail her with that info.
Yeah, some of the stuff Cristina did in s3 may have seemed over the top but if you really think about where she's coming from and what's happened to her, it does make sense for her character. Growing up with that privilege of always getting what she wants, her father being partly to blame for that, just made the idea of not getting the love of her life and worst of all losing him to someone else was just something she couldnt accept. But yeah the scissors thing was something I wish the writers would've omitted.
I wonder that too.

A new interview with PE (Ana). The Google Translate version sucks, so VV you may want to fill in the gaps and clarify. What I was able to see/read: * It sounds like Ana has changed in the time we've seen her...she mentions Ana being more direct and able to cope with things. * As of the interview, she had not yet worked with the new cast members CV (Petra, aka Emilio's old friend/love interest) and AL (Humberto, the famous actor who will bring Raul's line for men to life). It sounds like she WILL work with CV eventually, but she doesn't seem to think she'll be working with AL much, if at all, because she says their stories don't cross. * Ana is famous and picking up awards. She says some stuff about Ana's relationship with her son, juggling him and work. She reiterates what we know, that Ana will bring ready-to-wear fashion to Velvet. * She says there will be new sets/areas, including a new coffee area at Velvet and a school bus (?). * She's responsible for Ana's new short haircut that we were discussing in one of the other threads. She loves it. galeriasvelvet.mizonatv.com/paula-echevarria-no-perdonaria-que-el-amor-de-ana-y-alberto-no-triunfara/

^Pretty accurate from what I've read. She mentions that Ana is a fun mom and loves her son more than anything. And about the haircut: She wanted to make a radical change and so she sent them a photo of a 60s model with that haircut. When they tested out the look on her, there was no doubt from anyone that this was a good look for her. It has a lot of character and is very different. About how she imagines the end of Velvet: She's always said she's a follower of the show. As a viewer, she won't condone that Ana and Alberto's love won't triumph. She hopes and wishes that it will. About the new sets/areas: It's a school bus stop

Thanks, VV...I'm glad it wasn't totally off.
Interesting that the school bus stop is a set...I guess that must be for little Alberto (surely not also for Rita/Pedro's child, right? would schooling start as early as four?).
PE would look cute with the short hair...it's just the fact that the wig is so obviously a wig that grates.

Good news/bad news time. Good news: first look at little Alberto. Bad news: it's part of what looks like a happy family scene with Carlos included. http://instagram.com/p/BF1hyxeCY8e

Aw little Alberto Jr. haha Ugh it kills me to know that Alberto missed the first five years of his son's life! That's really going to hurt and upset him. Stupid Carlos!

Yeah, it'll be awful to watch this. And Ana's going to be horrified when she learns the depths of Carlos' deception, considering he appears to be close to little Alberto. She'll feel guilty, I'm sure.
I've been trying to find the source video for that picture, because to me it looks like a screencap of a promo video, maybe from YouTube, but I haven't found anything yet.

New spoilers! New character! The show has announced that it has cast actress Paula Prendes (who also played Cristina, Julio's sister, on Gran Hotel) in the role of Adele, an attractive Frenchwoman who works in the fashion world in New York. She will travel to Madrid for business and with a secret that will have a great effect on Ana's life. http://instagr.am/p/BGMX8XEiY98 IMO, the greatest bet is that she somehow has news about Alberto, but the official release doesn't go that far.
