Alberto and Ana will end up together, of course. Otherwise, the story will not work. But, I think there will be a lot of resentment, at first, about why he never wrote nor called. Of course, his letters were intercepted by Carlos and the postman. I'd be interested in seeing how it plays out when someone finally uncovers that little scheme. As for Patricia/Enrique, that will end once Valentin and his mother, discover it. Patricia already knows she doesn't love Valentin, so it is only a matter of his fortune and detaching herself from her perception of money which is mostly important to her mother, anyway.

Also, where Ana came from, is something to consider. Could she have siblings somewhere? Who were her parents, what did they do? Is Emilio her blood uncle?

Has anyone thought of the "Isabel" factor? She was, after all, the only rightful heiress of the Marquez money. Perhaps, it will be revealed that she left it to Alberto. Maybe that was the lose end he was trying to tie up. I would like to see Velvet back in the hands of the Marquez clan. The Cafieros are making too many changes and part of the original vision, was about tradition. Welcome to the board! I, too, would like to see the Marquez family continue to run Velvet. If not Alberto, then Patricia. Marco's a nice guy and all, but I have no emotional investment in watching him run Velvet. Yeah, part of my problem with the season being only 11 episodes and MAS (Alberto) only being in a few of them is that I really want there to be time to hash out where he's been and why he wasn't in contact. I'm worried that there won't be time for that, though. I hope you're right about this. Also, where Ana came from, is something to consider. Could she have siblings somewhere? Who were her parents, what did they do? Is Emilio her blood uncle? It would be great to explore Ana's backstory a little bit. I don't believe we ever heard her talk about her father -- just her mother. I do think Emilio is her blood uncle because he recognized her at the bus station because she looked like her mother/his sister. But there's definitely room to explore her father's side of the family.

Hi Northboundtrain -
Thank you for the nice welcome. You're right of course about Marcus' perspective in running Velvet - as I see it, he just can't summon the passion that a Marquez would bring. Same thing with the Oteguis.

I have to say that I think Cristina gets the rough end of the stick. In S3, Ana says 'I realise I have always been her victim.' I don't see that. Cristina was a kind, loving woman who wanted to make Alberto happy. She had no idea Ana was a threat at all. It was Ana who played with Cristina's life and happiness and convinced Alberto to marry Cristina even though he didn't love her. I don't blame Alberto because he didn't want to go through with it in the first place, but there's no mistake, Ana was the bad guy in the Ana / Cristina match-up. Sure Cristina's recent behaviour has been less than exemplary, but she's right when she says Alberto made her that way. And Alberto made her that way, because Ana forced him to. Ana wants to act like the squeaky clean good girl -- well she's not. I can't believe that no one else sees that.

I kind of see what you mean at the very beginning of the story bc Ana did want Alberto to marry Cristina to save all the workers' jobs. Ana sacrificed her own happiness for others. In the middle of the S1, Alberto is resigned to build a life with Cristina and reject Ana's offering to get back together. Cristina's focus was always on Alberto, she loved him therefore she deserved to marry him, even though it was bought for her. But she is a rich girl and used to getting what she wants so who the hell is Ana to take that away from her. Alberto is naive to think you can change your feelings by doing the right thing and that Cristina is a good person and she is going to understand his feelings and let him be with Ana. Remember at the end of S2 Cristina said to Alberto "are you going to throw away your life with a seamstress", that is a very snobbish thing to say, that someone's life is not worth living at all if you are a lower social economic individual. In the end her craziness and nastiness did not come out of nowhere, it is in her all along. The right circumstances bring it out. We see this type of person in our own life. Alberto did not make her that way, his action may bring that out of her. No can make you do anything if you don't have that in you.

Alberto and Ana are the perpetrators and they are being adorned despite their despicable behavior while Christina is exploited.

I don't remember Ana ever saying that. Not saying that she didn't, but I think the way you phrased it isn't accurate. I'm sure she was referring to Cristina's S3 behavior, not what came before. I disagree with you on Cristina being a "loving, kind woman." She was a spoiled brat, who was used to getting what she wanted. This is why she didn't see or acknowledge the obvious signs Alberto wasn't into her. He was a prize to her, a man she idealized into something he wasn't. She might have held onto him a little longer if she wasn't so controlling, overbearing and meddled where she didn't belong. Ana or no Ana, he was never going to fall in love with her.
Ana was not innocent, I think most will agree, but Cristina's father played a role as well. What kind of father buys their daughter a loveless marriage? Ana felt the consequences in S1 too, she was basically a servant to Cristina, always laboring away in the background as the latter basked in her engagement glory. Ana never considered Cristina a friend, that was from Cristina's perceptive, and it was more like charity imo. I also tend to think Ana was more to blame for what happened than Alberto because she encouraged the engagement, then couldn't handle it. She totally blew it by not marrying Alberto when she had the chance and rejecting him, which pushed him towards Cristina. Although he could have refused to marry Cristina regardless of what Ana encouraged. In the end, Alberto gave up more and made bigger sacrifices for Ana than she did for him, probably because he had more to give. Everything that happened to them in S3 was due to that bad decision to marry Cristina, so I think they both paid a much bigger price than Cristina ever did.
I don't think Alberto made Cristina insane as primusoars said, the events just triggered her mental health issues, plus she couldn't stand losing. They showed some flashes in S1 & 2 of what happens if you cross her. Even after she knew the circumstances of the marriage, she didn't care! She put zero blame on her father for making her pathetic and desperate. She just wanted to keep Alberto at any cost. She even asked him 'why don't you love me after all I did to save this marriage.' Hmm...because he never wanted to marry you in the first place. She was always delusional. There is no defense of her behavior in S3. She got her revenge ten fold and got to be part owner of the store, but she kept going. The marriage was a joke to begin with, why try to hang on to a man who never showed you any love? Where is her self respect? Alberto was wrong for marrying her, but he came clean. It was on her that she couldn't accept it and move on.
We are watching from the A/A perspective, so it's unsurprising more people will root for them. For me, I just never liked Cristina for the reasons stated above.
Yes.

One other thing, Ana can't be blamed for Alberto leaving Cristina. Yes, she was to blame for a lot of what happened in S1, but she was respectful of the marriage in S2. He pursued her, not the other way around. It was his decision to leave Cristina and seek an annulment, just as it was ultimately his decision to marry her.

It is! It makes it more interesting too.
I can see how some people would be sympathetic towards Cristina at the beginning, but I don't see how it's Ana's fault. Ana deserves more of the blame for ruining her own relationship with Alberto, but he (and Gerardo) was the one who ultimately betrayed Cristina by marrying her under false pretenses. That's why it bothered me that she mainly attacked Ana for "stealing" her husband, which was untrue. You can't break up a marriage that was a sham from the start, but she was delusional. I always wanted Alberto to straight out tell her during one of her verbal tirades, "I married you for money and I never loved you." I know he said he didn't love her, but I think he needed to emphasize the first part. I stand by my other comment, in the end A/A suffered severest consequences -- him selling the store and disappearing for 5 years, her thinking he's dead and raising a child alone -- which all led back to the bad decision to marry Cristina. Cristina brought on her own problems with her scheming. So she gets no sympathy from me.

So, are there any more shows after the birth of the baby in the church or is this the end?
