I've been watching El Internado and El Barco both good shows. A lot of actresses and actors carry over into diff shows. Also Gran Hotel about 4 times. I really enjoy Spanish shows and the language. Give them a try.

A few others I have watched recently are: Magnificent Century (Turkish), Love and Punishment (Turkish), Jane The Virgin Everyone who's loved at least one telenovela has to watch Jane the Virgin (because it's a parody of telenovelas, and it's also much more than that). Can you believe Jane's novel, Falling Snow, is an actual print book that you can actually read? I've read that it's a novelization of the Michael arc from Jane the Virgin, but set in the Edwardian Era (like Gran Hotel).

So period pieces for kdramas...I have watched one that was set in the 30s (well it was also set in modern day) and that was a drama called Chicago Typewriter. It wasn't my most fave kdrama but it was okay. Come to think of it most of their period pieces are set in the Joseon Dynasty and one that I really enjoyed is one called "7 Day Queen" that was based off of a real story. It was cute and heartbreaking at the same time though. lol A few others set in Joseon time or a historical time (these also include some that mesh historical and modern day) that I like are Legend of the Blue Sea, Goblin, and Moonlight Drawn By Clouds/Love in the Moonlight. Any of those are good to start.

I'm watching 'Lovebird', a Turkish series set in 1920's Istanbul. It's 72 episodes, but well worth watching. It has love, family traditions and culture, crime and mystery. It has comedy and drama, and will make you laugh, get angry or cry. I really recommend it.

I just watched Thi Mai, really funny and heart warming show. It has Bianca in it from Velvet,Also Carmen Machie and Adrianna Ozores. I have seen them all over the spanish shows I watch. I can't think of the characters names. You will like it though.
