The Time in Between is another Spanish period drama on Netflix which is excellent! It's based on a book of the same name by María Dueñas. Highly recommend!

I've been dying to start that one. May just have to do it this weekend before all my spring shows start premiering.

Some other foreign shows: - Japanese show 'Atelier' - also fashion, insight into Japanese culture - Turkish show 'Love bird' - very poetic and well done period drama with romance and comedy in it - main actors are super charismatic - Indian show "Tales of Rabindranath Tagore" - very touching short stories by famous Bengali author, take place around 1920s, some of the stories have made me cry!

I really miss Velvwt but I watched a few other good shows on Netflix:
1) Heartland 2) When Calls The Heart 3) Love Bird (Turkish) 4) Kurt Seyit and Sura (Turkish)
I loved all of these very much and rate them as high as Velvet

The time in between is really good, it has some of the actors from Velvet. It has Carlos, playing a reporter and the male secretary that slept with Christina and fathered the little Christiana plays an inspector. Really good cast. I recommend this.☺

I recently watch season 1 of 1001 Nights on Netflix.
It's a Turkish love story centered around Istanbul. It has an interesting twist at the beginning and an even more of one at the end. It's very current, but like Velvet has concurrent love stories while waiting for the 2 protagonists to finally come together. The scenery is lovely and the 3 main characters, 2 very handsome men that run a very successful architecture firm and the leading lady, an award winning architect who is single with a young child. There can be some very cheesy moments but overall, I rather enjoyed it a lot.
Hope this may provide another option. Be forwarded the first season has 49 episodes!!!
Cheers

Sounds interesting lady! I'm still watching the Turkish series lovebird... I'm enjoying it so much! Plus the main characters apparently just got engaged in real life. Netflix also cut it differently than the original run (like gran hotel) they turned 30 episodes into 72!! I didn't realize it would be such a time investment When I saw there was only one season. But worth it !

Loved Magnificent Century. I have been watching a lot of Turkish dramas since 1001 Nights. Karaday is another that was really good. Love and Punishment also very good. Ezel also very good. The latter being more revenge drama but still compelling. Oh and of course my all time favorite Kurt Seyit and Sura. It was very hard to find another series that enthralled me as much as Velvet did but Kurt Seyit and Sura was a pleasant surprise. Cheers to everyone!

Thanks for recommendations. There's just so many shows I want to watch, I'm currently into kdramas so my time for other dramas is limited but I'll get around to those as soon as I can. Cause I love foreign shows and would love to dive into some Turkish dramas.

^I don't even know where to begin. lol I've watched over 30 of them over the course of the last 7 months. (I wish I was kidding lmao) There's so many genres within kdramas but there's a few that are on Netflix, but it doesn't even begin to cover them all. There were a lot of good ones that came out last year and there's some that are airing now that are really good. But on Netflix there's "Hello, my twenties" aka "Age of Youth", "Descendants of the sun" and they just recently removed two good ones "Beating Again" and "Heartless City"
